๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Junta airstrikes in Hpakant as its troops suffer heavy losses in battle
September 10
As junta troops suffered heavy losses in ongoing battles in Hpakant, Kachin State, the military conducted airstrikes, local sources reported.
On September 9, Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) jointly encircled and attacked junta troops advancing toward Nyaung Pin Kone in Sharaung Hka area of Hpakant Township.
In the fighting, about 20 junta soldiers were killed, while around 10 others fled, according to reports.
The joint forces lured the advancing junta troops into an area with trenches and carried out a blockade-and-attack operation.
Facing defeat, the junta responded with two airstrikes and artillery support for its soldiers, local sources said. However, even with the air cover, the junta was unable to retrieve the bodies of its fallen troops as of today.
Meanwhile, the junta, in retaliation, deliberately shelled civilian areas, causing civilian casualties and deaths in the Hpakant region.

September 10
In battles in Bhamo, Kachin State, a junta battalion commander and at least ten soldiers were killed, forcing the troops to retreat, according to local military sources.
The clashes broke out when KIA and allied forces ambushed a junta column advancing toward the junta’s armored battalion base in Bhamo. Three separate clashes occurred.

Fierce fighting has been occurring in Bhamo almost daily in recent days. Although the junta has been launching continuous airstrikes, its columns, suffering heavy losses, were forced to retreat back to SAC (State Administration Council) Headquarters No. 21, sources reported.
In the September 8 clash, numerous junta casualties were reported. In addition to recovering the bodies of junta soldiers, the joint forces seized MA series rifles, machine guns, 79mm launchers, and ammunition.
The KIA and allied forces began their offensive to capture Bhamo in December 2024, but due to heavy junta resistance and air support, the town has not yet been fully captured. Battles have continued for nearly ten months, with intense fighting still ongoing.
