📌 Spring Revolution Local News – February 28, 2023 (Evening)
📌📌 1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La says that there is no way to progress for the country and its citizens under the military dictatorship
At the Cabinet Meeting (8/2023) of the National Unity Government held on February 28, Acting President Duwa Lashi La said the following:
“There is no way out or way to advance for the country and the people under the military dictators. Our National Unity Government is made up of multi-ethnic groups, and we are willing to expand it to include more diverse ethnicities. Only our government can guarantee the country’s stability and foreign investment”
The Acting President asserted that the stance of the National Unity Government is to abolish the dictatorship and establish a stable government.
“As seen by the numerous coups throughout history, the current military council cannot bring stability to the country,” said the Acting President.

📌📌 2. The Union Prime Minister says that the revolution is progressing at a good pace and is continuing to exert strong pressure to the dictator, owing in large part to CDMers
At the meeting of the CDM Success Committee held on February 26, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khine Thann remarked the following:
“Since they [CDMers] have scarified their lives for the future of the country and are moving forward with confidence, for more than two years, the revolution has been at a good pace and has continuing to exert strong pressure on the dictator, the terrorist military. Because they continue to fight with this spirit, now the world is paying more attention to the Myanmar issue without being able to turn its back on Myanmar anymore.”

📌📌 3. The CRPH and Sagaing Region Hluttaw meet and discuss parliamentary affairs
On February 28, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Committee Representing Sagaing Hluttaw (CRSH) had a video conference meeting to discuss parliamentary affairs.
At the meeting, Chairman of the CRPH, U Aung Kyi Nyunt, addressed the opening speech, and then Chairman of the CRSH, U Myint Htwe, made a presentation on parliamentary activities.
The other attendees of the meeting later exchanged views and discussed ideas for connecting more with ground activities.
The videoconference meeting was attended by Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt, secretaries, and other members of the CRPH, as well as Chairman U Myint Htwe and other members of the CRSH.

📌📌 4. The NUG strives to completely eliminate the evil political system so that it does not re-emerge
At a public meeting with Myanmar people in Southern California held on February 23, NUG Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung said that the National Unity Government is working to ensure the evil political system never re-emerges.
“The revolution will not end with the fall of this military council. Our objective is to never re-emerge this kind of evil political system in the future, which allows bad habits and bad characters to seize power at will. We aim to reform the entire system,” said Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung.
The military seized power on February 1, 2021.

📌📌 5. NUG’s Union Minister Dr. Sasa pledges to work hard together with the people of Myanmar to achieve the new federal democratic union as soon as possible
Dr. Sasa, the Union Minister of International Cooperation for the National Unity Government, posted the following on social media on February 27 to express his commitment to working hard to create a new federal democratic union:
“I pledge to work together with my dear motherland and the brave people of Myanmar to eradicate this cruel military dictatorship as soon as possible, to free ourselves from the military slavery of these terrible terrorist dictators, and to achieve a very prosperous new federal democratic union that awaits us all as soon as possible.”
The National Unity Government has developed and is implementing a one-year strategic plan.

📌📌 6. The NUG organises International Humanitarian Law trainings for its defence forces
On February 28, the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government made an announcement saying that trainings on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) were being organised for the defence forces.
According to the announcement, the Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with the Principles of Humanity, has offered a number of trainings on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) for the members of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) and local defence organisations and groups under the MOD since September 2022, and it will continue to organise IHL trainings.

📌📌 7. The Putao PDF demands the lorry drivers using the Putao-Myitkyina Highway not carry goods under tarpaulin covers
On February 28, the Putao District People’s Defence Force demanded the lorry drivers using the Putao-Myitkyina Highway not carry goods under tarpaulin covers, as follows:
“Our fellow public! We would like to request that all drivers of vehicles using the Putao-Myitkyina Highway refrain from transporting their goods under tarpaulin covers starting March 1, 2023, instead using transparent covers if necessary and accepting inspections.”
The military council forces are using private cars and lorries on the public transportation system disguised as civilians to reinforce their forces and carry military weapons.
