1. The Union Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Mann Win Khaing Than attended the Interim Local Public Administration Development Central Committee meeting No. 28/2024, on August 1st. The Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government, U Maung Maung Swe stated on social media on July 29th, that more than 200 political prisoners, including former Deputy Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw, U Tun Tun Hein, had been well taken care of by the People’s Defense Teams, PhaKaPha of Lashio District and revolutionary Forces. U Tun Tun Hein, an NLD central executive and the Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu's Hluttaw, was sentenced to 33 years in prison by the terrorist military junta in Lashio prison of Northern Shan State. He was released on July 28th.

3. The terrorist military junta bombarded Laukkaing with fighter jets late at night on August 1st, causing heavy damage, according to the military sources. At around 1:00 a.m., on August 2nd, fighter jets dropped 500-pound bombs into the Laukking city, causing huge buildings and residences to fire. Due to the military junta attack, rescue operations and firefighting activities were carried out overnight, so the MNDAA was unable to announce the extent of the damage. According to military observers, the terrorist military junta may have re-bombed residential buildings, including the people hospital in Launkaing, in retaliation for the Kokang Army-MNDAA’s attack and captured of the Lashio Military hospital. The two fighter jets that bombed Laukkaing early on August 2nd took off from the Tada-U Air Force, according to the NAS air defense monitoring and warning channel. According to local news sources, when the military junta bombarded Laukkaing with fighter jets, MNDAA troops were targeting the Northeast Command Regional Military Headquarters in Lashio. The terrorist military junta attacked Laukkaing for the fourth time on August 2nd, having earlier bombed on July 14th, July 23rd, and 24th, killing innocent local civilians and causing extensive property damage.

Myanmar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun and NUG Union Ministers attended the flag hoisting ceremony along with the remembrance of the 8888 uprising, in front of the Buffalo City Hall in the United States, on August 3rd. They hoisted the student flag, also known as fighting peacock flag used during the 1988 student uprising as well as fought for in the revolution against the successive dictators of Myanmar. The fighting peacock flag was officially hoisted in Buffalo for 15 years in 2024, with the approval of the relevant authorities, as part of the 8888 commemoration, to commemorate and honor all the Myanmar ethnic people who have given their lives in the fight for Myanmar's democracy and freedom.

The Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government’s newsletter in August stated that, if you learn about human rights violations, whether you encounter them directly or through other around you, you can send information and a report to the Ministry. The Ministry of Human Rights documented 4,656 cases of human rights violations in 2023, and 3,121 in the first six months of 2024. The terrorist military junta will target more areas in the Rakhine and Ta'ang regions in 2024, using heavy weapons, airstrikes, and violations of human rights.
