**Domestic Morning News Update by Radio NUG (December 3, 2024)**

 

### 1. Meeting Between NUG’s Ministry of Planning, Finance, and Investment and Mandalay Interim Political Strategy Coordination Committee  


On December 2, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Planning, Finance, and Investment (MoPFI) under the National Unity Government (NUG) met with the Mandalay Region Interim Political Strategy Coordination Committee.  

The meeting was attended by Union Minister U Tin Tun Naing, Deputy Minister Min Zeya Oo, and other officials. Discussions included the Mandalay committee's progress on drafting interim political strategies, updates on ongoing activities, and taxation and financial matters. Both parties exchanged ideas and perspectives on future plans in an open and collaborative manner.

### 2. Death of Political Prisoner Due to Illness in Insein Prison  


According to a report by PPNM, political prisoner Ko Pyae Sone Oo passed away at 6:30 PM on November 30 due to severe kidney disease and pleural effusion.  

Ko Pyae Sone Oo joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) in March 2021 after the military coup. He was arrested on August 27, 2022, and sentenced to death on September 12, 2023, under various military laws. He suffered from chronic illnesses and died after his health deteriorated further during his incarceration in Insein Prison.

### 3. Meeting of the Myanmar Legal Professionals Research Group  


On December 1, the Myanmar Legal Professionals Research Group held a meeting to discuss addressing human rights violations and property losses during the revolutionary period. Topics included making recommendations to the NUG on appointing notaries, organizing workshops, providing public legal education, and implementing training programs. The group also discussed its achievements and challenges in an open and constructive environment.

### 4. Ta'ang Lottery Awards Top Prize to a Winner in Hsipaw Township  


The 18th Ta'ang Lottery grand prize of 50 million MMK was awarded to Daw Thiri Thanda from Hsipaw Township. The lottery aims to fund educational initiatives, with proceeds supporting 500 schools and over 2,500 teachers in the Ta'ang region. Despite rising living costs, November lottery sales raised 30 million MMK for education, reflecting a decline compared to previous months.

### 5. Political Prisoners Denied Proper Medical Care in Prisons  


The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) reported that the military junta has intensified its oppression of political prisoners by limiting or denying access to medical treatment. Transfers of prisoners between facilities have also increased, with approximately 500 inmates, including political prisoners, relocated from Insein Prison on November 30.

### 6. CDF Mindat Announces Campaign for Successful Capture of Mindat Town  


The Chin Defense Force (CDF) in Mindat announced plans to capture Mindat Town successfully. A lottery campaign launched in November raised over 45 million MMK to fund the operation. The CDF reaffirmed its commitment to achieving victory in the revolutionary struggle.
