๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Taungoo Regional Military HQ Hit by Rockets: Significant Impact Reported
December 22
The Southern Regional Military Headquarters of the junta in Taungoo Township, Bago Region, was targeted by seven 107mm rockets, with five directly hitting the headquarters, according to Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).
The attack occurred on December 21 at midnight and continued into the early hours of December 22. The operation, part of BWM’s “Mission 27,” was conducted in collaboration with the Mountain Knight Civilian Defense Force (MKCDF), the Anti-Coup People’s Liberation Force (ACPLF), and the Than Taung North Special Region Group, with additional support from the Vissano-Taung Twin Gyi Group.
The Southern Regional HQ is a key operational base for suppressing resistance groups in northern Bago and adjacent areas, making it a strategic target for the mission. Preliminary reports suggest significant damage and casualties on the junta’s side, though further assessments are ongoing.
The BWM emphasized that the operation aimed to disrupt the junta’s oppressive actions nationwide and demonstrate their vulnerability even within their headquarters. This attack, the group noted, coincides with a broader effort to escalate the revolution’s momentum and inspire confidence among the resistance forces.
