๐๐ 3. Reflection on the Plight of Christian Youth and Families During Christmas by the NUG Minister of Human Rights
The NUG Minister of Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, expressed deep sorrow over the dire conditions faced by Christian youth, children, and families in Myanmar during the Christmas season. He noted that attacks on cherished Christian religious sites by the military junta continue unabated, overshadowing what should be a joyful period.
“In villages where Christians live in constant fear of airstrikes or artillery attacks, church bells remain silent, and families hide rather than attend church services,” the Minister wrote.
According to data from the Ministry of Human Rights, 67 Christian religious buildings were destroyed in 2023. By the end of November 2024, this number had risen to 80 due to arson, aerial bombardments, and artillery shelling by the junta.
"May everyone, regardless of religion, have the freedom to peacefully practice their faith without hindrance. May the future hold many joyous Christmas celebrations for all," the Minister prayed in his message.

๐๐ 4. Victory of the Arakan Army is a Triumph for All Ethnic Groups, Say Mon and Pa-O Revolutionary Groups in a Congratulatory Message
After the Arakan Army (AA) successfully captured the Western Regional Military Headquarters (Nabakha), four Mon and Pa-O revolutionary organizations sent congratulatory messages on December 25 to celebrate this victory, which is seen as a stepping stone toward the full liberation of Rakhine State.
The organizations include the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC), New Mon State Party - Anti-Dictatorship (NMSP-AD), Pa-O National Federal Council (PNFC), and Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO).
The message stated, "This victory is not only a triumph for the Rakhine people but also for all ethnic groups and the entire populace of the nation. We believe in joining hands to fight for the freedom of all."
Following the December 20 capture of the Western Regional Military Headquarters, Rakhine State has emerged as the first region with strong prospects for liberation from the military junta's control.
The ULA/AA has expressed a broad vision that extends beyond the liberation of Rakhine State. It emphasized collaborative efforts in the political arena for the liberation of all oppressed ethnic groups across the country, including the Burmese, and for the collective freedom of the people.
Furthermore, the message highlighted solidarity with allied ethnic revolutionary groups, reiterating their commitment to decisively combat the military dictatorship and collectively build a Federal Democratic Union desired by all.

๐๐ 5. Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing Commissions the 135-Meter Frigate Thalun Min at Thanlyin Naval Base
On December 24, during the Navy’s annual celebration, Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing commissioned the 135-meter frigate Thalun Min at the Naval Headquarters in Thanlyin Township, according to military-controlled media.
Despite this, the junta lost control of the strategically significant Maung Shwe Lay Naval Base in Thandwe Township, Rakhine State, earlier in 2024.
The junta continues to suffer territorial losses along Myanmar’s western coastline. Even as the regime holds naval ceremonies, revolutionary forces led by the Arakan Army (AA) and Kachin Independence Army (KIA) have neutralized at least 17 naval vessels belonging to the junta.
Currently, the Arakan Army holds dominant control over coastal and maritime areas along Rakhine State’s borders.

๐๐ 6. Cele Phyu Phyu Htwe Apologizes Over Controversial Drug Advertisement, But Faces Calls for Punishment
On December 23, the celebrity Phyu Phyu Htwe posted an advertisement for a drug brand named "Hongsu" on Facebook and YouTube, which sparked outrage and accusations of disrespecting Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
The advertisement featured Phyu Phyu Htwe dressed as a saintly figure in a white robe, portraying a healer. It included controversial phrases like the number "79" and "fence walls," which viewers interpreted as mocking Aung San Suu Kyi’s political imprisonment.
Following backlash, Phyu Phyu Htwe and the advertisement’s creators issued an apology on December 25, stating that the content was not intended to offend anyone and apologized for any distress caused.
However, a group identifying as Black Hero UG PDF released a statement demanding that Phyu Phyu Htwe face appropriate punishment.
Upon investigation by People’s Spring, revolutionary networks in Yangon confirmed that no such group as Black Hero UG PDF exists on the ground.
Observers noted that during the Than Shwe era, satirical terms such as “fence queen” were used in junta propaganda to mock Aung San Suu Kyi’s confinement.
The above updates were compiled and reported by Radio NUG correspondents Min Sith Thway and Kharshel.
