๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Nineteen Youths Temporarily Detained to Prevent Exiting Paletwa Released to Their Homes

Following the enforcement of the People’s Defense Law by the junta on February 10, widespread arrests of young people have taken place across the country. In response, the Chin Defense Force – Paletwa (CDF-Paletwa) issued a statement that they had intervened in November to prevent youths from their region from traveling outside Paletwa and had temporarily detained them for their protection.

The statement also mentioned that the 19 youths who were temporarily detained had been released on December 22 with guidance to stay in their villages to avoid unnecessary hardships and dangers. The release was carried out safely, allowing them to return to their homes.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Resistance Forces Target Junta Troops Looting at Kama Market with Drones and Heavy Weapons

On December 26, resistance forces launched drone and heavy weapon strikes against junta troops who had broken into the Kama market to loot public property. This was reported by the Joint Forces of Kama.

The exact amount and value of the goods looted by the junta soldiers have not yet been verified. The number of casualties among junta troops during the counterattack is also under investigation.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Four Junta Troops Killed in Mine Ambush on Ngan-Zone – Myotha Road

In Mandalay Region, Myingyan District, resistance forces ambushed a junta convoy on the Ngan-Zone–Myotha road, killing four junta soldiers on the spot. This attack was carried out by the Red Dragon Guerrilla Force, which issued the statement.

The ambush occurred around 3 a.m. on December 25, targeting a military convoy of approximately 40 troops traveling in a truck. Two landmines were detonated directly under the truck, halting it immediately.

As a result, four junta soldiers were killed instantly, while six others sustained severe injuries and were transported to a hospital.

The attack was executed by the Red Dragon Guerrilla Force – Myingyan, whose members safely withdrew without casualties.

Additionally, local civilians were advised to avoid close contact with junta forces and to refrain from driving or traveling between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. for their safety.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Attack on Nyaung Phyu Pin Outpost as a “Christmas Gift”

The Special Guerilla Force (SGF), Battalion (1), of Monywa District reported an attack on the Nyaung Phyu Pin police outpost in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, on December 25 as a symbolic “Christmas gift.”

The attack began at 5:20 p.m. when resistance forces initiated the assault by firing a single warning shot and calling for the junta forces to surrender. This was followed by the launch of two grenades into the outpost, after which an exchange of gunfire ensued for approximately 15 minutes. The weapons used included small arms, MA-2 rifles, and five-barrel rocket launchers.

The attack was jointly carried out by the SGF Battalion (1) – Monywa, SGF Battalion (3) – Yinmarbin District, and the Rural PDF units in Monywa Township.

Details of casualties or fatalities on the junta side are still under investigation. The resistance forces confirmed that all their members successfully withdrew without sustaining any injuries.

At 3:20 p.m. on December 26, artillery shells fired by junta forces struck Thantawkon Monastery in Myittha Township, reportedly killing two children and injuring three civilians. The incident was confirmed by the People's Defense Force (PDF) in Mandalay.

This indiscriminate shelling by the junta reflects their repeated war crimes and deliberate targeting of civilians as their military losses mount.

Clashes between the junta and resistance forces have been ongoing in Myittha, Tada-U, and Naungcho townships, with escalating tensions reported.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. Junta and Pyu Saw Htee Forces Burn Down Wetput Village in Southern Myinmu Township

Junta forces and Pyu Saw Htee militias jointly burned and destroyed Wetput Village, located in southern Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region, on December 25, according to the Central Ayeyarwady Joint Forces. Wetput, a former Pyu Saw Htee village now reclaimed as a People’s Village by resistance forces, was attacked in collaboration with the junta's military units from the Myinmu (Industrial Zone 2).

The arson resulted in the destruction of 15 civilian homes, along with three motorcycles, one of which was set ablaze.

The attack also included the detention of two male civilians. One was beaten and later released, while the other was taken into custody by the junta forces.

Wetput Village was originally seized by the Ayeyarwady Joint Forces and resistance groups on August 8, and nearby Tharyarku Village was also reclaimed on December 19.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 7. Two Press-Ganged Soldiers Defect in Monk Robes from Myittha Frontline

On December 24, two forcibly conscripted soldiers from the junta’s troops stationed on the Myittha frontline defected, dressed in monk robes, according to the Shwebo Township-based Farmers’ Leadership Committee PDF.

The defectors were identified as Ko Gyi (age 20) from Shwebo Township and Chit Ko Oo (age 22) from Kawmhu Township. Both reportedly defected without carrying any weapons or ammunition.

The PDF group expressed that due to limited budgets, they were unable to offer financial rewards to the defectors.

Ko Gyi had been forcibly conscripted during a military raid and arson attack on Myohla Village in western Shwebo Township in February 2024. After being captured as a human shield, he was sent to Training Camp No. 8 in Shwebo for three months of basic training before being deployed to the frontline.

The defectors revealed that they were given narcotics to suppress fear and heighten aggression during battles. They were also coerced into engaging in suicidal combat tactics.

The Christmas celebrations, an important occasion for Christians, were held on December 25 in several townships across the Arakan region, including Paletwa. Representatives of the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA) attended the events and made contributions, according to a report by APM.

An official from the ULA/AA emphasized their commitment to fostering unity:
“As a government committed to the Arakan people’s revolution, we approached the Christmas celebrations with the spirit of family and solidarity, transcending ethnic or religious differences. This demonstrates our respect for the Christian community and their significant holiday.”

In Lashio, a town under the control of the MNDAA (Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army) in Special Region 1, Christmas festivities were organized by the families of Special Region 1 staff, according to an MNDAA statement.

The event, held on December 23, was attended by staff families, local administrative officials, invited guests, and members of the community. Participants gathered for prayers and worship together.

During the celebration, Mr. Li Xinhai, Deputy Secretary of the Kokang Regional Administrative Committee, delivered a Christmas greeting speech. Religious leaders delivered sermons and offered blessings to the attendees.

Guests were treated to an array of food, including hotpot and refreshments, followed by a group photo session. The event concluded successfully, leaving lasting memories for those who attended.
