๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. North-Western Command Hit by Rocket Attack, 11 Killed Including a Major
The North-Western Command Headquarters (NWCH) of the military council, based in Monywa, Sagaing Region, was attacked with 107 mm rocket launchers, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals, including Major Kaung Htet Zaw, according to an announcement by Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).
The attack occurred at approximately 9:45 PM on January 4th, when four 107 mm rockets struck the NWCH, causing damage to the Deputy Commander’s residence and the main administrative office. It was reported that Major Kaung Htet Zaw and five others were killed instantly.
In a related development, the attack also targeted the office of the 12th Communication Battalion, where three night guards and two commando soldiers were killed, bringing the total death toll to 11.
The NWCH serves as the headquarters overseeing military operations in Sagaing, Magway, and Chin States, and has been a significant obstacle to resistance forces. The operation was carried out in coordination with Brave Warriors for Myanmar, Shadow (Monywa), Anonymous Heroes, Chindwin Fighters, Daw Nyein Generation, Bo Mote Seit Democratic Rangers, and other groups.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Airstrikes on Two Villages in Demoso Township Kill Three IDPs
On January 15th, the military council carried out airstrikes on Baw La Yar and Daw So Khu villages in eastern Demoso Township, resulting in the deaths of three internally displaced persons (IDPs) and injuries to four others, according to U Zaw, spokesperson for the Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF).
During the bombing of Daw So Khu village, a 31-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both displaced siblings, were killed instantly. A 70-year-old woman also succumbed to head injuries while receiving treatment at a hospital.
Four other individuals, two men and two women, sustained injuries to their faces and legs and are currently undergoing medical treatment.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Naung Htaw Village in Sisai Township Bombed Twice by Jet Fighters
On January 14th at around 3 PM, the military council bombed Naung Htaw Village in Sisai Township, Pa-O Region, twice using jet fighters, according to a statement by the PNLA (Pa-O National Liberation Army).
The airstrikes caused significant damage to the Naung Htaw police station and the village monastery.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Five Attacks on Military Convoy Supplying Rations to Kan Ni Pyu Village
On January 13th, the military council’s convoy, transporting rations to Kan Ni Pyu Sa Thay Village in Myaing Township, Magway Region, was attacked five times, resulting in the deaths of 10 military personnel, according to a statement by the Myaing Supporting Battalion (MSB).
The convoy was initially attacked near Inn Yaung Village and Wet Khaung Village with landmines, followed by a direct confrontation near Kyaung Kone Village. Five military personnel were killed, and nine others were injured during these attacks.
Subsequently, on January 14th, two additional clashes occurred between Kyaung Kone and Kan Ni Villages, resulting in the deaths of three military personnel and injuries to 17 others. Additionally, two soldiers died after triggering landmines planted by resistance forces near Kan Ni Village.
Resistance forces reported that five of their members were also injured during these engagements.
The attacks were jointly carried out by Myaing Supporting Battalion - MSB, Pakokku District Battalions (Nos. 2, 6, 7, 14, 15, 17), Shwebo District Battalion No. 25, Myaing PDF Battalion, Pakokku Earthquake Battalion, Ayeyarwady Unified Forces, Wanpalu Guerrilla Forces, and local PDFs.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Landmine Attack on Three Military Council Vehicles on the Popa-Wailone Road
According to a statement by Popa Production & Guerilla Force (PPGF), a landmine attack targeted three vehicles of the Military Council on the Popa-Wailone road in Kyaukpadaung Township, Nyaung-U District, Mandalay Region. The incident occurred at around 11:00 AM on January 15 when a returning convoy of Military Council forces, engaged in daily extortion and inspections of civilians, was ambushed with landmines.
One vehicle was reportedly destroyed in the attack, with significant casualties likely, while soldiers from the remaining vehicles responded by firing both heavy and small arms. The operation was carried out by members of the Popa Guerilla Force (PGF), who successfully retreated without sustaining any injuries.
On January 5, around 8:20 PM, a similar attack occurred in the vicinity of Mount Popa when returning Military Council vehicles were targeted with landmines.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Resistance Forces Repel Military Council Troops Advancing on Villages in Chauk Township
In Magway Region’s Chauk Township, resistance forces repelled Military Council troops advancing on villages in the Tainsan area. The Chauk Guerrilla Force (CGF) reported that a combined resistance group engaged a Military Council convoy of about 100 troops departing from Konegyi Village at 6:45 AM on January 15. The convoy retreated by 10:30 AM.
During the retreat, the Military Council forces reportedly detained one villager and brutally killed two others. The operation was a joint effort by the Chauk Guerrilla Force (CGF), Chauk Township People’s Defense Forces (PDF), Magway District PDF Special Operations Unit, and other local resistance groups.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. Police Officer Captured During Pursuit of Military Council Troops in Taungtha Township
A police officer from the Military Council was captured along with weapons and ammunition by resistance forces during a pursuit operation in Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region. The incident occurred at 2:30 AM on January 14 when over 50 troops from the Military Council, based at the steel factory, conducted a raid on Chonkyi Village.
The raid resulted in the arrest of a PDF member recovering from illness. Resistance forces launched a counterattack, during which a police officer, separated from the group while using a toilet, was captured. The officer attempted to disguise himself as a civilian but was apprehended by resistance fighters.
Weapons seized included a G3 rifle, 250 rounds of ammunition, four magazines, one 60mm mortar shell, and other military supplies.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 8. 290 Civilians Killed by Military Council Forces in 2024
According to data collected by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), 290 civilians, including 46 women and 244 men, were confirmed killed by Military Council forces across Myanmar in 2024. Among the fatalities were 20 children under the age of 18.
Sagaing Region accounted for the highest number of casualties, with 100 deaths. One notable incident occurred on December 20, 2024, at approximately 4:00 PM, when a young man named Myo Min Thu was shot dead on the spot by Military Council forces in Sagaing Township. The incident took place at a teashop in Zeyar New Ward after the troops detained a porter and pursued fleeing youths.
