๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. After Taking Control of All Rakhine Regions, Arakan Army Offensive Moves Toward Pyay Via Ann-Toungyar Route
January 29
After fully gaining control of the Rakhine region, the Arakan Army (AA) has reportedly launched an offensive toward Pyay via the Ann-Toungyar route, according to a January 29 report by PDF Insight.
The western part of the Bago Yoma near Pyay, traditionally a stronghold for the People's Defense Forces (PDFs) and allied PaKaFa units, is currently seeing intensified revolutionary activities. Resistance forces stationed along the upper regions of the Bago Yoma are now descending into adjacent areas to launch more coordinated attacks.
If these offensives grow stronger, it is anticipated that regular attacks could disrupt the Yangon-Pyay highway.
PDF Insight further stated that if battles escalate along this route, the junta forces may face a critical shortage of safe retreat areas for rest and regrouping.
These military updates were reported by Radio NUG correspondents Khant and Min Thihan.
