๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Meeting with Cobra Column Led by Captain Dabaw and Offering Words of Encouragement

The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government (NUG), Mahn Win Khaing Than, visited and addressed members of the Cobra Column, led by Captain Dabaw, the Commander of Operation Area 32. This column is actively engaged in an offensive against the military junta’s Aung Zeya column. The NUG released this information in an official statement.

During the meeting, Captain Dabaw briefed the Prime Minister and his team on the ongoing military operations and introduced members of the Aung Zeya column who had defected to the pro-democracy forces.

Afterward, they were shown the wreckage of a downed helicopter within the territory of Battalion 355, based in Thay Gyan Ni Nyaung of Myawaddy Township. The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude, offered words of encouragement, and provided financial support to address the immediate needs of the soldiers.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. KNDF Battalion 606 Reported More Than 52 Clashes with Junta Forces in 2024

KNDF Battalion 606 reported that it had engaged in over 52 battles against the military junta in 2024, often in collaboration with other KNDF battalions across Kayah (Karenni) State.

Major clashes occurred in areas such as Moe Bye (422), Pada Nye, Htee Par Law Khu, Na Nat Taw, the Industrial Zone, Mine Lone, Pan Kan, the border between Phe Khon and Pin Laung Townships, Pin Son, Nwar Lar Wo, Lin Phon Lay, and Kun Tha. The battalion utilized various offensive and defensive strategies during these engagements.

KNDF Battalion 606 claimed to have inflicted significant casualties on junta forces, capturing numerous soldiers and military equipment. Despite some injuries among their ranks, they also reported the loss of three comrades who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The fallen soldiers were honored as national heroes, and condolences were extended to their families.

The battalion also noted its previous role in training within the Shan North Alliance (611) before returning to Kayah State in 2024, where it remains actively involved in military operations alongside other resistance groups.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Myingyan Black Tiger Conducted 42 Operations in 2024, Leading to Over 200 Junta Casualties

The Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) reported conducting 42 operations against junta forces in Mandalay and Magway Regions during 2024. These operations resulted in over 200 junta casualties, according to their statement.

The MBT collaborated with allied resistance forces in nine offensive missions, 11 defensive battles, 11 urban guerrilla operations, six mine attacks, and five drone strikes, totaling 42 missions.

As a result of these operations, they seized 24 weapons and caused severe damage to junta forces. However, the MBT also mourned the loss of two of its members, Comrades Kula Lay and Wanna Htun, who were remembered for their sacrifice.

Additionally, the MBT’s “End Point” campaign reportedly achieved 103% of its fundraising target due to strong public support. The unit announced plans for upcoming urban operations while urging civilians to avoid close contact with junta forces for their safety.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Zajam Township Police Station Attacked by Ground and Aerial Forces

The Zajam Township Police Station in Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, was attacked by ground and aerial forces on the morning of December 31, according to a statement from the Myingyan District Army-3 (MDA-3) and Taungtha Youth Group.

The attack began around 6:45 AM and lasted until 8:45 AM, involving MDA-3 Battalion 3’s ground units and drone teams. Despite junta reinforcements, including three Jack Fighter helicopters, the PDF forces successfully executed their mission and retreated safely without casualties.

The operation inflicted significant damage on the junta forces, showcasing the resilience and strategic capabilities of the resistance groups.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Clearing Landmines Planted by the Military in Salin Gyi Town

On January 2, resistance forces conducted a clearance operation near areas occupied by the military junta in Salin Gyi Town, according to Solo Aung Gyi's report.

During the operation, the resistance forces successfully removed nine landmines planted by the junta's troops, it was revealed.

The junta soldiers, fearing attacks by the resistance forces, had densely planted landmines around their positions. In December, a monk lost one leg after stepping on a mine planted near the junta’s base, reports say.

The clearance operation was carried out jointly by Solo Aung Gyi’s group, Battalion 16 of Yinmarpin District, and the allied artillery units based in Salin Gyi, according to the announcement.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. Financial Assistance Provided to Comrades Who Suffered Injuries or Loss of Limbs

The People’s Defense Force (PDF) under the National Unity Government (NUG) distributed financial assistance to comrades who suffered injuries or loss of limbs while serving under the DMO Local PDF.

According to the statement, 199 comrades were injured during their service in DMO Local PDF due to airstrikes, artillery shelling, ground combat, and landmines planted by the military junta.

Out of these, 38 comrades sustained severe injuries affecting their legs, arms, eyes, liver, lungs, kidneys, or heads. A total of 5,950,000 kyats (approximately 5.95 million kyats) was distributed as financial assistance, funded by public donations.

The DMO Local PDF expressed its gratitude to both domestic and international donors for their contributions in supporting these injured comrades.

On January 2, Battalion 1 of Gangaw District announced that it had presented awards to comrades who had been serving with unwavering commitment and sacrifice since the battalion's establishment.

The ceremony was held to mark the end of 2024 and to uplift morale ahead of 2025. Awards included Honorary Records, Model Awards, and Best Discipline Awards.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 8. Construction of a Bypass Bridge for a Deteriorating Bridge in Yaw Region

The YDF (Yaw Defense Force) reported the construction of a bypass bridge for a nearly collapsed bridge in the northern Yaw region of Magway Division. The original bridge was crucial for approximately 10 villages, serving essential needs such as healthcare and livelihoods.

The bridge had deteriorated to a dangerous state, posing risks for vehicle crossings. To address the issue, a bypass bridge was constructed using revenues collected from local toll gates. The project utilized two JCB excavators, one Faw truck, and one six-wheel vehicle, with the help of approximately 40 comrades.

The construction was carried out from December 12 to 13, with assistance from local administrators, community leaders, and monks. The YDF expressed special gratitude to all involved.

As a Yaw-based resistance force, the YDF continues to undertake military operations while also working on infrastructure projects, such as road and bridge construction, to improve connectivity and promote regional development.
