๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. The Simultaneous Offensive on Bhamo and Mansi Towns by Revolutionary Forces

January 8

The operation to capture Bhamo and Mansi towns simultaneously began on the morning of December 4. According to Union Minister Dr. Tu Khaung, who provided updates on January 8, the revolutionary forces have achieved successes proportional to their strategic efforts.

He stated:

"The operation to capture Bhamo and Mansi towns commenced on December 4. However, unlike the typical towns with only garrison troops, these areas have been fortified with heavily secured bases and long-standing military establishments built over the years to sustain resistance.
Historically, Bhamo's strategic advantage for the enemy lies in its logistical ease, with accessibility via water routes, roads, and airways. Currently, however, all road and water routes have been cut off, leaving the enemy reliant solely on air transport."

On January 7, it was reported that the opposing SAC (State Administration Council) forces carried out more than 50 airstrikes, deploying 18 fighter jets and 2 Y-12 transport planes to bomb the area.

Dr. Tu Khaung elaborated further:

"The SAC forces gathered reinforcements from bases in Momauk, Lwe Gel, Man Wun Gyi, Sinbo, Myothit, Kunlaw, Yaw Yon strategic base, and Sain Lone strategic base. These are key military hubs where resources are concentrated, and combat-ready personnel are stationed.
Despite the enemy's significant use of air power and the multitude of challenges, revolutionary forces have made commendable progress, achieving successes proportional to their efforts."

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Ambush on Three Military Supply Trucks from Sagaing Division Command 33

January 8

On January 7, People’s Defense Forces (PDF) ambushed three SAC military supply trucks carrying weapons and equipment from Sagaing Division Command 33 to the Northwestern Regional Command Headquarters in Monywa. The ambush occurred on a section of the Monywa-Mandalay Road, resulting in the destruction of one truck, according to Area 71 PDF Monywa, which issued the statement on the morning of January 8.

Reports indicate that the three armored trucks were transporting critical military supplies, including weapons and ammunition, from Sagaing Division Command 33 to Monywa. Acting on specific intelligence about the trucks' departure times, PDF forces carried out the ambush using sophisticated double-trigger landmines (TNT) at 5:18 PM on January 7 along the Chaung-U to Monywa road.

The second truck was directly hit, causing it to explode, with its body blown open. The remaining trucks halted near the minefield, and as SAC soldiers stationed nearby opened fire indiscriminately, the PDF forces successfully retreated despite facing intense gunfire. The extent of casualties on the SAC side remains under investigation.

This operation was a coordinated effort involving the Monywa Township People's Defense Forces (PDF), Area 71 PDF Monywa, Anyar Defense Force (ADF), and Tiger Brother People's Defense Force.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Appeal to Civilian Vehicles on the Union Highway

January 8

The Tanintharyi Township People's Defense Force (PDF) issued a public notice on January 8, requesting that all civilian vehicles traveling along the Union Highway lower their mirrors and comply with safety protocols.

The notice emphasized:

"Passenger vehicles are requested to lower their mirrors during travel. Cargo trucks should leave their coverings open if they are empty, and avoid close proximity to SAC military vehicles on the road."
