๐๐ 1. 86 Women Killed and 77 Injured in January 2025 Due to Attacks by the Military Junta

In January 2025, the Myanmar Women’s Union reported that 86 women lost their lives due to attacks by the brutal military junta. Of these fatalities, 73 women were killed in airstrikes, 12 due to artillery shelling on villages and homes, and one by a landmine explosion.
Additionally, 77 women sustained injuries, including 42 from airstrikes, 31 from artillery shelling, 3 from landmines, and 1 due to unjust physical assaults.
The report highlighted that among the deceased women, 39 were from Rakhine State, 11 from Shan State, and 10 from Sagaing Region. Rakhine State recorded the highest number of female casualties during January 2025.

๐๐ 2. Thai Parliament Member Urges Arrest of BGF Leader Saw Chit Thu

Rangsiman Rome, Deputy Secretary-General of the Move Forward Party in Thailand, urged the Thai government to take legal action and immediately arrest Saw Chit Thu, a leader of the Border Guard Force (BGF) under the junta in Karen State’s Myawaddy Township, for providing protection to fraudulent networks.
Rangsiman stated on social media on February 9 that the Thai authorities must act decisively against Saw Chit Thu. Despite much of his operations being conducted overseas, their repercussions are felt domestically in Thailand.
He emphasized that arresting Saw Chit Thu, a leader of fraudulent operations, would yield positive results and further expose Thai officials involved in these activities. Rangsiman added that Saw Chit Thu possesses critical information and has made large financial payments to certain Thai officials, suggesting his arrest would be a strategic move akin to "killing two birds with one stone."

On February 8, the 79th anniversary of the signing of the Panglong Agreement was commemorated in London by ethnic nationals residing in the UK, according to Click To Fight.
The event was attended by representatives from various UK-based ethnic organizations, along with Kim Aris, the younger son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, and Dr. Thet Ko Ko, the NUG representative to the UK.
Traditional ethnic foods were sold at the event as part of a fundraising initiative, with proceeds set to support critical needs within Myanmar.

๐๐ 4. Irrawaddy Strategic Campaign Fundraiser Held in San Francisco Bay Area

On February 8, Irrawaddy supporters in the San Francisco Bay Area of California organized a fundraiser under the theme “Homebound Irrawaddy Wave.” The event aimed to address the multifaceted needs of the Irrawaddy Strategy 29 Campaign currently under development.
The event was supported by Nway Oo forces and Myanmar-born community members. Proceeds from the sales and a Zoom meeting, totaling $9,000, were directly donated to the finance committee of the Irrawaddy Strategy 29 Campaign, led by former Irrawaddy Region Chief Minister U Mann Johnny (Nayaka).

๐๐ 5. Nway Oo Prayer Ceremony Held for Fallen Heroes, Including Myat Thway Thway Khine

On the evening of February 8, near the White House in Washington, D.C., at the Ellipse (Presidential Park), a prayer ceremony was held to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the passing of Myat Thway Thway Khine and honor other fallen heroes of the Nway Oo Revolution.
The ceremony, which took place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., brought together young generations actively participating in the revolution. Attendees lit candles and offered prayers in remembrance of the martyrs.
