๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Mon Resistance Groups Urge Mon People to Intensify Participation in the Revolution

February 13

On the occasion of the 78th Mon National Day, which falls on February 13, Mon resistance groups have called on all Mon people to actively engage in the revolution. This call was made through statements and messages from the New Mon State Party (Anti-Dictatorship) - NMSP(AD), the Mon Liberation Army (MLA), and the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC).

The NMSP-AD statement highlights that the military junta, which forcibly seized power, is the common enemy of all ethnic people, plunging the entire country into a civil war. The statement also notes that this has led to worsening economic and social crises, endangering the security of the people.

It further emphasizes that to overcome this crisis, the dictatorship must be eradicated, and the people must reclaim their lost rights, including self-determination. At present, ethnic groups across Myanmar are fighting against the military junta alongside their allies, with armed resistance movements aiming to secure long-awaited self-governance. The NMSP-AD has therefore urged the Mon people to unite as a collective force and escalate their involvement in the revolution.

The statement also calls on all Mon individuals, both inside and outside the country, to take responsibility and contribute to the Mon liberation struggle in whatever capacity possible.

Additionally, the Mon Liberation Army (MLA) has issued a Mon National Day message, expressing hope that Mon people will one day celebrate a Mon National Independence Day. The MLA encourages Mon communities at home and abroad to unite and work collectively toward Mon national liberation.
