๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Intense Clashes in Min Tun Township: Military Suffering Heavy Casualties While One Revolutionary Fighter Falls

February 21

Fierce clashes broke out between the junta forces and revolutionary forces in Min Tun Township, Magway Region, resulting in significant casualties on the military’s side while one resistance fighter lost his life, according to Battalion 4 of Thayet District, which issued a statement today, February 21.

On February 18, a junta convoy, including Infantry Battalion 88, LIB 12, and Pyu Saw Htee militia—comprising around 70 troops—entered Myauk Pyin village monastery via Kan Ma Naing village. In response, the Revolutionary Joint Forces launched an attack on February 19 at 2:30 PM, using drones and 60mm mortar shells, leading to intense fighting.

The attack was coordinated by Battalion 4 of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) under Military Region 1 of Magway Region, alongside the drone unit and SAF student rocket battalion. Drone strikes and mortar shell bombardments inflicted damage on the military, while Battalion 4’s infantry units engaged in direct combat within the monastery compound. However, as the junta called in artillery reinforcements and aerial support, a jet fighter conducted three airstrikes at 5 PM, forcing the revolutionary forces to retreat, the Thayet District Battalion 4 spokesperson stated.

The junta forces suffered numerous casualties, while on the revolutionary side, one fighter sustained critical injuries and was martyred, and two others sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the junta’s artillery unit near the 5-mile checkpoint of Min Tun town provided support with approximately 30 rounds of 120mm artillery fire. Consequently, on February 20, the junta forces withdrew from Myauk Pyin village and returned toward Min Tun.

Due to the junta’s heavy artillery shelling and airstrikes, several civilian-owned cattle were killed, and an elderly civilian sustained minor injuries, according to the statement from Battalion 4 of Thayet District.
