๐๐ 1. Union Prime Minister Urges Efforts for Swift Justice in the Killing of Father Martin Donald

Union Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than has urged all concerned parties to make concerted efforts to swiftly uncover the truth regarding the killing of Father Martin Donald.
The Prime Minister made this statement during a meeting of the National Unity Government’s (NUG) Interim Public Administration Central Committee.
"The fact that we were able to promptly inform the public about the ongoing investigations on February 17, just a few days after the tragic incident in Shwebo Township on February 14, is commendable. I strongly urge continued efforts to swiftly bring the truth to light. Additionally, it is crucial to establish an effective system for information flow and reporting within the public administration mechanism. Relevant ministries must press ahead with ongoing investigations with urgency, and reports should be submitted to me without delay," said the Prime Minister.
On February 14, 2025, at around 6:00 PM, Father Donald Martin (aged 44), a senior clergyman from Mandalay Archdiocese, was killed at the Lady of Lourdes Church in Kangyidaunt Village, Shwebo District.
Following the incident, the Shwebo District Battalion (5) of the People’s Defense Forces (PDF) and local defense forces (Pa Ka Pha) collaborated to swiftly apprehend 10 suspects within the same day. Initial investigations revealed that the suspects were members of a local defense group.
A special investigative tribunal has been formed, and the investigation is currently underway.

๐๐ 2. All Funds Raised from Kim Aris’ New York Gathering to Be Donated to Myanmar’s War Refugees

It has been announced that all funds raised from the New York gathering of Kim Aris, the youngest son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, and Myanmar families will be donated to displaced war victims in Myanmar.
Regarding the event, Ko Nay Tun Myint, an executive of NYCBC, shared the following remarks with Radio NUG:

In commemoration of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 80th birthday, Kim Aris is set to host an important discussion in New York on Myanmar’s democratic struggle and human rights movement.
The event, scheduled for March 15, will feature key speakers including Kim Aris, Minister for Women, Youth, and Child Affairs Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe, Myanmar’s Ambassador to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun, and Sean Turnell, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s former economic advisor.

๐๐ 3. Over 120 Myanmar Organizations Send Open Letter to UNHRC, Calling for Justice Against Junta’s Atrocities
More than 120 Myanmar organizations have jointly sent an open letter to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), urging all possible legal actions to ensure justice for the junta’s brutal crimes.
The Blood Money Campaign reported on February 20 that the letter was endorsed by 121 organizations, calling on the UNHRC to:
- Completely reject the junta’s sham elections and related initiatives.
- Support Myanmar people's efforts in building a federal democracy.
- Enforce a global arms embargo on the junta.
- Impose targeted sanctions on fuel supplies to Myanmar’s military.

๐๐ 4. MBT Battalion Restores Electricity to Village Destroyed by Junta Forces in Myingyan District

The Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) battalion has successfully restored electricity to a village in Myingyan District that was previously destroyed by junta forces.
On February 15, MBT forces secured and retrieved essential electrical equipment, including cables, from a military-controlled electricity office within enemy territory.
Subsequently, in collaboration with local village authorities, MBT worked to restore electricity to one of the villages in Myingyan Township that had been torched by the junta. As of now, electricity has been restored to 60% of the village.
MBT has stated that its actions are not for personal gain but to ensure the well-being and livelihood of civilians in the areas under their control, and they remain committed to lawful and just operations.

๐๐ 5. Southern and Northern California to Host Charity Soccer Match for Myanmar, Proceeds to Be Donated via “People’s Honor” Organization

A charity soccer match titled “Friendship Fundraising Football Match for Myanmar” will be held in Southern and Northern California to raise funds for Myanmar’s cause. The event will take place on April 19 at Duarte High School Football Stadium.
Athletes are dedicating their efforts and strength to the cause, and the organizers have called for contributions to help cover general expenses.
"The purpose of organizing this match is to provide a unique program for the Myanmar community in Los Angeles. All funds raised will be channeled through the 'People’s Honor' organization to assist those in need inside Myanmar," said the event organizers.
The news was reported by Radio NUG correspondents Min Thihan and Ko Khant.
