 ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Attack on MRTV Transmission Tower Hill Near Bawdi Tahtaung in Monywa Leaves 11 Police Officers Dead; Weapons and Ammunition Seized

An attack was launched on the MRTV transmission tower hill camp near Bawdi Tahtaung, a notable location in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region. The assault resulted in the deaths of 11 police officers under the military’s command, and a significant cache of weapons and ammunition was seized, according to a statement released today, February 27, by Military Region No. 1.

The attack successfully captured the MRTV transmission tower hill camp, located east of Khatakkan Village in Monywa Township, on the morning of February 26. The official statement was released in connection with this development.

The People's Defense Joint Forces (PDF) carried out the attack on the camp, which was occupied by 17 police officers under military control. The seized weapons and ammunition included five G-3 rifles, three Uzi submachine guns, two M-79 grenade launchers, 2,570 rounds of G-3 ammunition, 2,128 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 10 40mm grenades, two directional mines, six ammunition magazines, and one television, according to Military Region No. 1.

During the battle, the Northern Northwestern Regional Military Headquarters (Namakh) deployed two paramotor aerial units, while the Tada-U Air Force Base dispatched an Mi-35 attack helicopter to provide air support to the police. Additionally, Artillery Unit A-508 launched approximately 14 rounds of 105mm and 120mm shells. However, despite these reinforcements, the resistance forces successfully took control of the camp.

The operation was executed under the command of the Monywa District Commander, in coordination with the Monywa District Command Office, Monywa District Drone Unit, Monywa District Artillery Unit, Infantry Battalions 1, 4, 6, 16, 24, and 27 of Monywa District, the Combined Military Column based in Chaung-U Township, Infantry Battalion 2 of Sagaing District, the GTR Drone Unit of Sagaing District, the Danger Force LPDF Attack Unit of Monywa District Pa Ka Pha, the Drone Unit of Monywa District Pa Ka Pha, Monywa Township Pa Ka Pha, the Drone Unit of Battle Zone-11 in A Yadaw Township, and the BLDF group.

Reports from local residents and revolutionary forces indicate that the junta is reinforcing its troops and preparing for a ground offensive in response to the attack.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Clashes on Chaung-U-Myinmu Road as Military Convoy from Nat Yekan Garrison Engages Resistance Forces; Two Soldiers Killed

A battle erupted along the Chaung-U-Myinmu road in Sagaing Region when a military convoy from the Nat Yekan junta garrison encountered resistance fighters. According to Infantry Battalion 12, Company 3 of the Lightning Guerrilla Unit in Monywa District, two junta soldiers were killed.

On February 26, at around 2:00 PM, a clash occurred when a 40-member junta column from the Nat Yekan military garrison, traveling along the Monywa-Mandalay Highway, encountered resistance fighters.

Reports indicate that the junta convoy included armored vehicles escorting copper transport trucks departing from Monywa. In anticipation, resistance fighters from the revolutionary joint forces had set up an ambush along the Chaung-U-Myinmu road.

The confrontation lasted for approximately 30 minutes. Two junta soldiers were killed, and others were wounded. In response, the junta forces retaliated with heavy and small arms fire, resulting in a resistance fighter sustaining a leg injury.

This attack was jointly conducted by Infantry Battalion 12, Company 3 of the Lightning Guerrilla Unit, Nway Oo Brothers Column, Infantry Battalion 15, Company 3 of Monywa District, and Eleven People Defense Force.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Attack on Military Checkpoints Along the Old Yangon-Mandalay Road Leaves Eight Soldiers Dead

In an operation targeting seven junta-controlled checkpoints along the old Yangon-Mandalay Road in Phyu Township, Kyauk Tan Kha Township, Bago Region, resistance forces successfully overran and destroyed these military positions, resulting in the deaths of eight junta soldiers, according to an official statement released on February 27 by Southern Military Region No. 2.

The attack was carried out by units under Southern Military Region No. 2, in collaboration with KNU/KNLA joint forces, on February 25 and 26.

As a result of the operation, eight junta soldiers were killed, and two others were wounded. Following the battle, resistance forces cleared and dismantled the junta checkpoints.

The statement further confirmed that while the junta suffered significant casualties, one resistance fighter was also martyred.

The attack was executed by forces under the People’s Defense Force (PDF) - Southern Military Region No. 2, including Infantry Battalions 3702 and 3502, Spring Warrior Column, Arlawaka Column - 7803, Ayeyarwady Column - 6002, Sit Taung Column, Yangon Pa Ka Pha, Phyu Pa Ka Pha, and KNLA Battalion 9.

The Southern Military Region No. 2 has advised civilians to avoid areas near junta military bases and checkpoints as the PDF plans to escalate military operations against the regime.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Attack on Police Convoy Disguised as a Religious Mission in Sinpaungwe Township Leaves Three Officers Dead; Weapons Seized

An attack was launched against a police convoy disguised as a religious mission vehicle in Sinpaungwe Township, Magway Region, resulting in the deaths of three police officers and the seizure of weapons and ammunition, according to Infantry Battalion 5 of Thayet District.

The attack targeted a five-member police unit led by Deputy Police Chief Yan Naing Htay on February 24 at approximately 2:30 PM. The clash occurred between Kyawthar and Thapyay San villages in Sinpaungwe Township.

The battle lasted for about 30 minutes, during which the resistance forces seized the following weapons and equipment from the fallen officers:

  • One Type-79 handgun
  • Two 40mm grenades
  • One MA-13 assault rifle
  • 130 rounds of MA-13 ammunition
  • 120 rounds of G-3 ammunition
  • One hand grenade
  • One six-chamber revolver
  • Five mobile phones
  • National ID cards and service identification documents

The attack was jointly carried out by Infantry Battalion 5 of Thayet District and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) - Ponnawaddy. The resistance fighters suffered no casualties and successfully withdrew.

On February 17, another attack in Sinpaungwe Township targeted two junta military vehicles along the Konepin-Thagara road, resulting in four enemy casualties, according to military reports.
