๐๐ 1. UK Foreign Secretary Urges Release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and All Arbitrarily Detained Individuals
February 2
The British Embassy in Myanmar announced via video on the evening of February 1 that UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called for the immediate release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all those arbitrarily detained.
David Lammy emphasized the necessity of freeing the State Counsellor and other political detainees, stating that the coup four years ago by Myanmar's military ousted the democratically elected government led by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and severely curtailed the freedom of expression for the people of Myanmar.
Despite the four years that have passed, David Lammy asserted that the events must not be forgotten, urging the release of all political detainees and advocating for the restoration of peace and democracy in Myanmar.
On February 1, marking four years since the military coup, the British government, along with the U.S. and the international community, strongly condemned Myanmar's military regime and reiterated their support for the people of Myanmar.

February 2
Thai authorities intercepted and confiscated computers and smartphones used in fraudulent Kyarpyaint operations being transported from the Shwe Kokko area in Myawaddy, Karen State, on the Myanmar-Thai border.
Reports indicate that a suspicious pickup truck was stopped during a patrol by a combined force led by the Thai military near Mae Lamad, Tak Province, on February 1. Upon inspection, authorities seized 1,251 smartphones, 274 SIM cards, 19 computers, and 274 circuit components allegedly used in fraudulent schemes.
The Thai truck driver reportedly confessed that he was paid 5,000 baht to transport the equipment from near the Moei River border area to a private logistics company in Mae Lamad, which was then supposed to deliver it to a house in Watthana Nakhon District, Sa Kaeo Province.
The driver is currently in police custody at Mae Lamad Police Station while investigations continue to apprehend other suspects involved. Reports suggest the seized equipment may have been intended for operations near the Thailand-Cambodia border.
Due to international pressure to suppress online fraud syndicates based in Shwe Kokko and Myawaddy, some Chinese business operators are reportedly relocating to border regions like Three Pagodas Pass and Tachileik.
