The Minister of Home Affairs, U Lwin Ko Latt, announced that steps are being taken to reduce tax collection checkpoints within revolutionary territories in response to the demands of the public and business owners.

During the "Spring Revolution European Forum" on February 3, the minister officially disclosed this information, stating:

"Our tax collection is actually minimal. Revenue generation mainly comes from fines and tolls. Public sentiment is positive overall—they contribute willingly. However, they are not pleased with the numerous checkpoints along roads that disrupt smooth travel. Both the public and business owners want fewer checkpoints. We are currently coordinating closely with relevant organizations and preparing to make the necessary adjustments."

At present, the revenue collected within liberated territories is being proportionately allocated to support various revolutionary sectors.

The NUG Union Minister for Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, called on the UK government through social media on February 3 to advocate for a stronger and more immediate UN Security Council decision regarding Myanmar.

"The UK government recently announced increased healthcare assistance for Myanmar refugees and called for the immediate release of unjustly detained individuals, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. We sincerely appreciate the UK for providing humanitarian aid and vocal support. We hope they will further push for a stronger Security Council resolution soon," the minister stated.

Despite previous UN Security Council resolutions urging the release of political prisoners, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the junta remains defiant.

Additionally, U Aung Myo Min participated in the "La Rivoluzione di Primavera in Birmania" conference in Italy on February 1, marking the fourth anniversary of the Spring Revolution. He highlighted the continued resistance of the people, junta-led human rights violations, and the potential for greater international collaboration to achieve the revolution’s victory.

Union Minister U Htin Linn Aung urged revolutionary forces to remain focused on ousting the dictatorship as quickly as possible without getting distracted by internal conflicts.

"Despite some recent disputes that could mislead ground forces, those I have personally spoken to understand my stance clearly. Let us not waste time clarifying every misunderstanding but instead focus on defeating the dictatorship swiftly. I pledge to continue contributing to the revolution with all my strength and capability," he said.

The minister also noted that the Ministry of Communications, Information, and Technology continues to invest financial resources in support of both the parent organization and ground forces.

πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 4. Anti-Coup Protests Held Across France, Europe, and South Korea

In Paris, France, Burmese nationals and supporters marked the fourth anniversary of the coup with the "Lights on Burma" event. The gathering highlighted the bravery and resilience of the Myanmar people in their fight for democracy, emphasizing solidarity between French citizens and the Burmese. Nann Su Mon Aung, a representative from the NUG, explained Myanmar's current situation and future prospects.

The event included a live painting session by artist Kyar Paw, where attendees wrote messages of protest on the artwork, concluding with a performance of the song Kabar Ma Kyay Bu.

In South Korea, a demonstration and press conference were held on February 1 near the Myanmar military-affiliated civilian embassy in Seoul, followed by a protest march to the military attachΓ©’s office. NUG representative U Yan Naing Tun attended and spoke at the event.

Similar protests and commemoration events were held in Norway, the Netherlands, and other European countries. In London, over 400 Burmese nationals gathered at the Parliament Green to honor the fallen heroes of the revolution, with speeches delivered by NUG UK representative U Maung Maung Aung, former UK Conservative Minister Paul Scully, and Burma Campaign UK's Anna Roberts.

The Nway Oo Tea Gathering in the San Francisco Bay Area of the United States has confirmed that it raised over $12,000 in total sales and donations for February. The confirmation was announced by the Nway Oo Tea Gathering family on February 3.

Marking the four years since the military coup and the Spring Revolution, a spokesperson from the group stated:

"Instead of just commemorating these events, it is critical that we focus on strategies and messages from revolutionary leaders to decisively bring an end to the four years of military dictatorship and four years of the Spring Revolution. We need to hear more concrete plans. As for us, we will continue to contribute and fulfill our responsibilities with unwavering unity and commitment."

The Nway Oo Tea Gathering family regularly cooks and sells food each month, with the proceeds sent back to support the ongoing Spring Revolution and other essential needs in Myanmar.
