๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Tightened Inspections and Restrictions on Medical Supplies at Pathein Prison
On February 4, the Myanmar Political Prisoners Network (PPNM) reported intensified inspections inside Pathein Prison, including restrictions preventing the delivery of medical supplies for detainees' health care.
Due to ongoing clashes between SAC forces and revolutionary groups in the Ayeyarwady Region, the SAC is reportedly not only enhancing military preparations in Pathein but also imposing stricter inspections inside the prison.
Although prison authorities are responsible for providing necessary living supplies for detainees, they allegedly failed to make such provisions. Instead, collaboration between senior inmates and prison staff has led to illegal practices, such as extorting money from detainees for essentials, starting with buying basic room supplies like light bulbs.
Moreover, restrictions have been imposed on delivering medicines and books, which are now completely prohibited. For food packages, only three types of dishes and a maximum of seven packets of coffee are allowed to be sent.
Political prisoners reportedly face severe food shortages, forcing them to deposit money at the prison store and buy overpriced food items.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. 163 Organizations Submit Open Letter to Malaysian Government Urging Removal of Myanmar Junta Representatives from All ASEAN Meetings
February 4
On February 3, 163 organizations submitted an open letter to the Malaysian government, addressed to the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, calling for the exclusion of all Myanmar military junta representatives from ASEAN meetings and events.
The letter emphasized the importance of inviting only legitimate representatives of the Myanmar people, such as the National Unity Government (NUG), to participate in ASEAN meetings and events.
It clarified that anyone attending international events on behalf of ministries under the junta's control is effectively a political representative appointed by the military, regardless of any claim to the contrary.
The letter warned that granting senior junta officials and their representatives opportunities to represent Myanmar at ASEAN events would cause serious harm to the interests of the Myanmar people.
The above military news report was contributed by Min Thihan, Radio NUG correspondent.
