๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. PDF Battalion Commander Training Completion Ceremony Successfully Held

The National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced that the 1/2024 Battalion Commander Training Course of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) was held on March 8 in an NUG-administered territory.

The graduation ceremony featured the reading of a message from Union Minister U Yee Mon of the NUG Ministry of Defense, a speech by the Commander of Military Region No. 1, an oath-taking ceremony under the People’s Revolutionary Flag, and a collective singing of the "Are You Ready?" anthem.

The training course was conducted under the supervision of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) Headquarters and was attended by 115 trainees from Sagaing, Magway, and Mandalay regions.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Two Police Officers Extorting Travelers Shot Dead in Mahlaing Township, Weapons Seized

Two police officers stationed at an illegal checkpoint in Lakswe Village, Mahlaing Township, Mandalay Region, were shot dead, and two firearms along with ammunition were seized, according to Nwar Htoe Gyi PDF (Myingyan District Battalion 4).

The police officers, from the Manaw Kan Police Station, had set up a checkpoint in Lakswe Village, where they were reportedly extorting money from travelers by intimidating and arbitrarily detaining them. On March 12, resistance forces launched a covert attack on them.

The officers were ambushed while they were openly collecting money from passersby, leading to their deaths and the confiscation of their firearms.

On March 11, just a day prior to the attack, local youth were reportedly detained at the same checkpoint, where police were extorting truck drivers, particularly those transporting cattle, goats, and goods, by demanding excessive fees.

The operation was carried out as a joint attack by Nwar Htoe Gyi PDF’s Myingyan District Battalion 4 and Battalion 10. All resistance fighters successfully withdrew without casualties.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Attack on Junta Forces Stationed in Myingyan Town Leaves One Soldier Dead

A soldier from the military junta forces was killed in an attack on junta troops stationed in Myingyan Town, according to the Freedom Fighter Guerrilla Force (FFGF).

On March 11, allied revolutionary forces launched a coordinated attack on a junta stronghold located east of Ward 18 in Myingyan Town, using drones, heavy weaponry, and small arms.

During the assault, junta reinforcements arrived from inside the town, leading to a 20-minute firefight, which resulted in one junta soldier being killed.

The operation was carried out by the Freedom Fighter Guerrilla Force (FFGF) and allied resistance forces. No casualties were reported among the resistance fighters.

FFGF has issued a public advisory urging civilians to avoid the battle zones for safety reasons.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Landmine Attack on Advancing Junta Troops in Ngazun Township Kills 15 Soldiers

A military column of around 50 soldiers, which had been advancing on foot from Gyo Village in Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region, was ambushed with landmines, resulting in 15 junta soldiers killed, according to Special Task Force Ngazun.

The attack was carried out by resistance forces on March 10 at around 9:00 AM. The junta troops, caught in a minefield, were struck by three "Padetha" mines and 12 directional mines, leaving them with heavy casualties. The attack was so effective that the junta forces were unable to return fire, sources reported.

Following the ambush, the bodies of the dead and wounded soldiers were evacuated in four military trucks from Gway Kone Village, according to Special Task Force Ngazun.

The attack was a joint operation by Myingyan District Battalion 6, Company 3, and Special Task Force Ngazun. In addition, these forces are running a fundraising campaign titled "Raise the Flag for Continuous Battles – Ngazun Ks. 100 Million Campaign" and have appealed for public support.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Five Newly Recruited Junta Soldiers Defect from LIB 235, Bringing Two Rifles and 600 Rounds of Ammunition

Five newly recruited junta soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 235 have defected to Nwar Htoe Gyi PDF in Myingyan District, Military Region 1, bringing with them two rifles and 600 rounds of ammunition, according to an announcement made on March 13.

The defectors were forcibly conscripted into the military under Batch 6 of the junta’s forced recruitment program. Identified as Myint Naing, Aung Naing Moe, Htet Aung, Win Naung, and Zaw Myo Naing, the defectors escaped in early March and surrendered to Nwar Htoe Gyi PDF’s Myingyan District Battalions 4 and 10.

They managed to bring along:

One MA-1 rifle

Two MA-3 rifles

600 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition

Two 60mm mortar shells

As a reward, they were given financial compensation and were safely escorted to a liberated area of their choice, according to Nwar Htoe Gyi PDF.

Resistance forces have reiterated their call for junta soldiers and police officers to defect at any time and seek refuge with the people, emphasizing that they do not have to continue serving under the military dictatorship. This message was issued by Myingyan District Battalions 4 and 10.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. KNU Provides Humanitarian Aid to Displaced Civilians in Paingkyon Township

On March 11, 2025, the Karen National Union (KNU) Central Committee for Public Relations and Information, the KNU-Phapon District Public Relations and Information Committee, and Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 22 delivered 30 sacks of rice and essential food supplies to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Paingkyon Township, KNU-Phapon District.

Displaced civilians in Paingkyon Township are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, particularly for basic survival needs.
