March 17
Radio NUG
Myanmar communities in Boston, USA, met with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s son, Ko Htein Lin, as announced on March 17.
"I am deeply grateful for the warm and compassionate welcome from friends in Boston. The moment I arrived, I felt as if I had reunited with longtime acquaintances and returned home. The unwavering support for Myanmar’s future is truly admirable. I was overjoyed and moved to witness the success of scholarship recipients from Prospect Burma, an organization that was not founded by my mother despite her Nobel Prize recognition. My mother has always believed that education is one of the most crucial pillars for rebuilding Myanmar. Hearing the voices of these successful young individuals reassures me that her belief has materialized, giving me even more hope for the future," said Ko Htein Lin.
He also expressed encouragement, stating that the collective determination and relentless efforts of everyone involved serve as motivation to continue striving for Myanmar with full strength.
The meeting was organized by the New England Burmese community group. During the event, Kin Eric discussed the urgent humanitarian needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and those forced to flee their homes in Myanmar. He also shared updates on ongoing grassroots support projects providing assistance on the ground.
Additionally, eight portrait paintings of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi were sold at $1,000 each, with proceeds contributing to the Spring Revolution’s fundraising efforts. ๐๐ 5. Defeated on the Ground, Military Regime Increasingly Relies on Airstrikes
March 17
Radio NUG
The "Blood Money Campaign" reported on March 17 that Myanmar’s military regime, facing continued defeats on the ground, has resorted to heavily relying on airstrikes.
"The military junta, losing battles on the ground, is now prioritizing airpower, extensively using both aircraft and drones. Conducting airstrikes requires fuel, aircraft munitions, and maintenance, all of which demand significant financial resources. Similarly, drone warfare necessitates purchasing technological equipment and drone-related supplies. To fund these operations, the Thai government-owned PTT (PTTEP) has been supplying the junta with oil revenues. Even though these funds are technically held in an escrow account rather than being directly transferred to the regime, PTT has continued its business operations, enabling the junta to receive billions of dollars annually from the Thai government. These funds allow the military to purchase aviation fuel and other necessities for conducting air raids," the campaign reported.
The campaign also urged participation in efforts to cut off financial flows to the military in order to halt airstrikes.

Additionally, the junta has continued its aerial bombardments on civilian populations. On March 14, an airstrike on Let Pan Hla Village, Sintgaing Township, Mandalay Region killed 27 people, including children.
