πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 6. Bodies Remain Uncleared in Sagaing Township as Decomposing Smell Spreads, Severe Shortage of Rescue Operations

March 30

In Sagaing Township, the epicenter of the earthquake, bodies remain uncleared, and a strong odor of decomposition is spreading, exacerbating the urgent need for rescue operations, according to local sources.

When Radio NUG reached out on March 30, a representative from the Sagaing Township People's Administration confirmed:
"Yes, that's correct. Rescue operations have not been effectively carried out. While some youth volunteers are present outside the town, inside the city, only SAC and Pyu Saw Htee forces are in control. We want to help, but we are unable to."

In response to the crisis, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) stated that medical personnel and humanitarian aid workers in Myanmar and neighboring countries are ready to provide medical assistance to earthquake victims as soon as authorization is granted by the authorities.

To ensure an effective response, immediate access to affected areas, timely delivery of essential supplies, and permission for technical experts to operate in the disaster zones are critical, the statement emphasized.
