In Yesagyo Township of Magway Region, a training session focused on the protection of women and children was delivered to local villagers under the leadership of the Human Rights Officer, according to reports.
The training covered a wide range of topics, including women’s rights, the child protection policy promulgated by the National Unity Government, and the six grave violations against children. The session was designed to raise awareness among the community, particularly women and children.
One participant remarked:
“In Myanmar, we didn’t know there were treaties to protect women and children, or that mechanisms existed for us to report when we were abused. It was only through this training that we learned about these protections. We didn’t even know what rights we had as women, and we’ve been subjected to violations without realizing it.
