๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Junta's Southern Regional Military Headquarters Attacked with 107mm Short-Range Rockets

The Southern Regional Military Headquarters of the junta, located in Taungoo Township, Bago Region, was attacked with 107mm short-range rockets, according to a statement released by the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM).

The attack took place at 1:37 AM on April 30, when eight 107mm rockets were fired at the Southern Command compound. All eight rockets reportedly struck their intended targets successfully.

The operation was led and coordinated by BWM in collaboration with the Mountain Knight Civilian Defense Force (MKCDF), the Anti-Coup People’s Liberation Force (ACPLF), and the Northern Than Taung Special Region Group.

The Southern Command (commonly known as “TaPaKha”) plays a key role in overseeing junta military operations in Bago Region, northern Karen State, and surrounding border areas. Additionally, following the destruction of Naypyidaw’s military headquarters due to an earthquake, senior officials from Naypyidaw’s military commands have reportedly relocated and are now stationed at the Southern Command, according to BWM’s Mission 35 team.

BWM further stated that investigations are ongoing to assess casualties and damage inside the compound, and timely updates will be released accordingly.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. SSPP and MNDAA to Hold Central-Level Talks Over Military Tensions

The Shan State Progress Party/Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) announced that it will hold high-level central talks with the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) to address ongoing military tensions between the two forces.

The statement highlighted that the SSPP and MNDAA have maintained an alliance for over a decade. However, tensions arose during the second phase of Operation 1027 due to MNDAA’s inadequate formal communication when traversing SSPP-controlled territories and weak linguistic coordination between field units.

As a result, on April 28 and 29, at least 24 violent skirmishes and eight military clashes occurred between the two sides, including incidents of arrests, assaults, and confrontations, with casualties reported on both ends.

On April 29 at around 10:00 AM, a two-hour-long clash broke out near Tin Hine and Hoo Mi villages in Thibaw Township. Later, around 3:00 PM, MNDAA forces launched an assault on SSPP’s Sein Kyaung base, leading to a firefight with confirmed casualties.

Currently, MNDAA troops have been reinforcing positions in areas with SSPP/SSA military presence, including Narnan, Nat Taw, Khone Nan Phaw, Tin Hine, Sin Kyauk, Na Tount, Na Ma Khaw, and Pharsay (Thibaw Township), where military tension remains high.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 7. Ammunition production declines at Ka Pa Sa factories west of the Irrawaddy River

Military production at the Ka Pa Sa (Defence Industries) factories located between Magway and Bago Regions, on the western bank of the Irrawaddy River, has declined significantly due to intensified clashes with revolutionary forces led by the Arakan Army (AA), according to military sources.

Transport and communication difficulties—caused by road blockages—have disrupted supply chains between factories. Security issues, the need to reinforce frontlines, and personnel shortages at the facilities have also led to reduced focus on arms production.

Ka Pa Sa Factory No. 14 in Ngaphe Township, Magway Region, is reported to have completely halted production. Although ammunition from the 2024 production run is still in use, output at Factory Nos. 9 and 6 has also declined as security priorities take precedence.

Reports further indicate that the AA and allied forces may be preparing for renewed attacks on Ka Pa Sa factories located in the western part of Bago Region.
