ππ 1. Seven Junta Informants Embedded Within Resistance Forces Uncovered by People’s Defense Force (Mandalay)
May 27
Radio NUG
As the terrorist military junta faces increasing difficulties across various battlefronts nationwide, it has been systematically deploying informants to infiltrate resistance forces in order to extract intelligence and disrupt internal unity. The People's Defense Force (Mandalay) has exposed such infiltration operations, according to a statement released on May 27.
The junta reportedly dispatches its own personnel or affiliated civilian supporters disguised as recruits into resistance groups. These individuals gather location intelligence, sow discord among members, and attempt to entice fighters to defect.
This tactic has intensified especially since the unlawful enactment of the People’s Military Service Law. Young men and women, particularly those in their twenties, have infiltrated the Mandalay-based PDF under the guise of new recruits. During training, these operatives attempted to build rapport with fellow trainees in order to collect real names, residential addresses, and phone numbers. Moreover, they spread demoralizing narratives aimed at weakening the resolve of genuine resistance members.
Once sufficient intelligence had been gathered, these operatives would typically desert their posts, later continuing their operations by persuading others to defect and providing route assistance for escapes.
The PDF (Mandalay) has identified seven individuals involved in these military intelligence operations on behalf of the junta. They are:
- Ye Thway @ Black @ Chit Ya Aung
- Kyaw Zin Htet @ Ba Saw
- Pan Ei Phyu @ Harry Kyaw
- May Myat Noe @ Yuki
- Paing Arkar Oo @ Paing Paing
- Kyal Sin Lin @ Julius
- Kyaw Pyae Aung @ System
These individuals reportedly conducted reconnaissance on aerial strike targets and battlefront positions and relayed this information to the junta. They also spread misinformation among resistance fighters to foster defections and gathered intelligence on training camps, security checkpoints, medical facilities, conflict zones, sniper team locations, and troop movements. They continued to serve as informants for the junta even after desertion.
Additional tactics employed by junta informants include:
- Using fake accounts—especially those impersonating women—to establish contact with resistance fighters and extract information.
- Offering false promises of supply deliveries as a pretext to inquire about locations.
- Pretending to deliver snacks or plan visits to reconnoiter base areas.
- Approaching resistance members in the guise of romantic partners to gain trust and extract intelligence.
- Falsely claiming to be organizing new battalions or using the name of existing battalions—such as fraudulently invoking “Battalion 2 of Kyaukkyi District”—to lure members into traps and facilitate their capture.
The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) successfully uncovered these operations in a timely manner and responded with counterintelligence efforts. The organization has systematically monitored the modus operandi of such infiltrators and disseminated the findings to other resistance forces to help them strengthen their own security protocols.
The PDF (Mandalay) urges all revolutionary units to remain vigilant against junta infiltration tactics, safeguard internal cohesion, and enforce stricter security vetting when handling sensitive information.

ππ 2. IIMM Investigates Myanmar Military’s Financial, Arms, and Property Networks
May 27
Radio NUG
The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) has announced that it is investigating how Myanmar’s military utilizes finances, weapons, and assets to perpetrate grave international crimes—or conversely, how it may be profiting from such crimes.
“We are investigating questions such as: Who is supplying the Myanmar military with weapons and aircraft? Who built security installations on sites of destroyed Rohingya villages? This financial evidence can help identify responsible parties, support future prosecutions, prevent future crimes, and contribute to reparations for victims,” the IIMM stated.
In connection with these investigations, the IIMM is gathering information on financial transactions, cash transfers, land and property ownership, arms supply chains, and holdings of military and civilian officials, major business actors, and beneficiaries of the junta’s network. Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact the mechanism confidentially and securely.

ππ (3) NCP Denmark Launches Investigation into Sale of ATR Aircraft to Myanmar Companies Following Justice For Myanmar's Complaint Against Nordic Aviation Capital
May 27
Radio NUG
An official announcement stated that NCP Denmark has launched an investigation into Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) following a complaint lodged by Justice For Myanmar (JFM) regarding the sale of ATR aircraft to Myanmar companies.
In 2024, Justice For Myanmar filed a complaint with Denmark's National Contact Point (NCP) for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, alleging NAC’s involvement in leasing, selling, and financially supporting ATR aircraft for Myanmar buyers.
The complaint raised serious concerns about human rights violations, citing NAC’s business activities—including the sale, lease, and financing of ATR aircraft to Myanmar companies—as potentially enabling harmful impacts amid Myanmar’s ongoing armed conflict.
Justice For Myanmar emphasized that NAC failed to comply with its due diligence responsibilities under the OECD Guidelines, which require multinational enterprises to assess and address potential human rights risks in their operations. This includes NAC’s transactions with Myanmar buyers such as Air KBZ (now Air Mingalar) through its various subsidiaries.
JFM argued that in the context of Myanmar’s active armed conflicts, these aviation transactions have likely contributed to serious negative consequences on human rights.
In response, NAC denied the allegations, asserting that it had exercised adequate due diligence regarding its business operations and clients in Myanmar, and that it has maintained respectful engagement with its partners in the country.
