๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. CDF Joint Forces Capture a ZRA Military Camp Under the Junta's Control

June 11

A military outpost belonging to the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA), a junta-aligned armed group, was seized by the Chinland Defense Force (CDF) - Tonzang and allied forces in Tonzang Township, Chin State, according to local sources.

The joint forces launched an attack on the ZRA base near Mualkawi Village, Tonzang Township, on the morning of June 9. Two ZRA fighters were reportedly found dead at the site. Captured equipment included four firearms, two drones, seven motorcycles, one vehicle, and various ammunition, sources said.

The ZRA is known to operate along the Myanmar-India border and has been collaborating militarily with the junta, receiving arms and logistical support from the regime, according to statements issued by Chin resistance forces.

On May 23, 2024, Chinland Defense Forces captured Tonzang Township from junta control. Since then, ZRA troops aligned with the junta have repeatedly launched attacks attempting to retake Tonzang from CDF-Tonzang and the Chinland Council Defense Forces, local sources reported.

In early April, a ZRA offensive on Tonzang resulted in heavy clashes. Upon retreat, the ZRA forces reportedly set fire to and destroyed NatZang and Buangmual villages—both inhabited by members of the Zo ethnic group—according to local reports and documented accounts.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Ongoing Military Offensive in Pale Township Forces Over 20,000 Civilians from Around 20 Villages to Flee

June 11

Military offensive operations aimed at capturing junta camps are currently underway in Pale Township, Sagaing Region, displacing more than 20,000 civilians from around 20 villages, according to the People’s Administration of Pale Township.

Clashes have been concentrated around the junta’s Kantdaw camp and the Pyu Saw Htee camp at Zeephyu Hill, with allied revolutionary forces, including the People's Liberation Army (PLA), launching an assault on the Kantdaw junta base beginning June 2.

On June 10, resistance fighters from the Ministry of Defense (MOD) battalions and Pa Ka Pha (PDF under NUG) forces attacked the Pyu Saw Htee camp at Zeephyu Hill. Around 12:15 PM, while the operation was underway, two junta fighter jets bombed near the area. Both MOD and PLA forces responded using heavy machine guns and anti-aircraft weapons. One of the jets was reportedly hit and crash-landed in a monastery located about three miles southeast of Zeephyu Hill Village.

During the clashes, revolutionary forces reportedly seized enemy corpses, weapons, and other military equipment. The junta forces responded with extensive aerial bombardment using Y-12 aircraft, fighter jets, and paramotors, dropping over 500 bombs in total, according to reports.

Due to the fighting, more than 20,000 civilians from approximately 20 villages have been displaced. The People's Administration has issued an urgent plea for civilians to evacuate to safer areas, as clashes are expected to intensify further.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Junta Torches Civilian-Owned Machinery in Hpakant

June 11

Junta forces currently operating in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, continued torching civilian-owned jade mining equipment. On June 10, they reportedly set fire to machinery at a jade mine located in Mausi Sa Village, according to local sources.

A video circulating on social media shows the destruction of equipment at the Mausi Sa site by junta troops, corroborating the reports from the ground.

The military convoy, which entered the Kamaing–Lone Khin–Hpakant route on April 23, reached Hpakant by May 29 and began systematically torching several jade mining operations.

Joint resistance forces from the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Kachin People’s Defense Force (KPDF) launched ambushes on the junta convoy, resulting in multiple clashes. At least 18 junta troops were reportedly killed in these attacks, according to military sources.

Due to the heightened tensions and instability in the area, the KIA-KPDF joint forces have issued a warning to civilians to stay indoors between 9 PM and 4 AM and remain vigilant about the dangers posed by military movements in the region.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Intense Clashes Erupt Near the Border of Hsihseng and Nyaungshwe Townships; Casualties Reported on Both Sides

June 11

Fierce fighting has broken out on the eastern side of Hsihseng Lake near the border between Hsihseng and Nyaungshwe Townships, as a large joint force comprising the terrorist junta troops and their allied PNO/PNA People’s Militia launched a major offensive into the area. According to the Strategic Command 14 Information Department under the Southern Shan Region People’s Defense Force, casualties have been reported on both sides.

This announcement comes amid ongoing clashes and rising military tensions in the Hsihseng Township area throughout June.

On June 2, the junta’s joint forces, which included the PNO/PNA People’s Militia—a subordinate ally of the terrorist military council—launched a massive offensive into Yae Phu Village in Nyaungshwe Township, an area under revolutionary control on the eastern side of Hsihseng Lake, triggering intense clashes.

Clashes have continued up to the present day. Over the past week, there have been confirmed casualties on both sides. Reports indicate that at least five PNO/PNA militia members were killed, and additional personnel sustained injuries.

In addition, ongoing military operations in the border areas between Southern Shan State and Kayah (Karenni) State have heightened tensions in Hsihseng Township. Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) troops and the Hsihseng-based PDF Battalion 1006 are conducting operations in the vicinity of Kuntha Village, a hotspot where the junta's assault forces are active.

Amid these clashes and military escalations, the junta has carried out relentless airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling targeting villages across Hsihseng Township, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to six others—most of whom are children and young women, according to local sources.

Furthermore, residents report that in the villages reached by the joint junta-PNO/PNA troops, the occupying forces are forcibly conscripting civilians, extorting money, and subjecting villagers to abuse and mistreatment.

Given the volatile situation, the Strategic Command 14 Information Department of the Southern Shan PDF has urgently appealed to civilians living near active conflict zones to strictly adhere to all military advisories issued by defense forces for their safety.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. Military Junta Used Internationally Banned Cluster Bombs in Aerial Attack on Pain Yat Village, Kyainseikgyi Township, Killing Five Civilians Including Three Young Children — KNU, Dooplaya District Reports

June 11

The Karen National Union (KNU) Dooplaya District has released a statement alleging that the Myanmar military employed internationally banned cluster bombs in an airstrike on Pain Yat Village, Kyainseikgyi Township, which killed five civilians, including three children of primary school age.

According to the statement, the aerial bombardment took place at 1:45 PM on June 9, when a military jet from the Air Force base in Naypyidaw launched a bombing raid targeting Pain Yat Village in Kyainseikgyi Township.

The airstrike killed:

  • Two girls aged 6 and 8,
  • A 7-year-old child,
  • A 40-year-old female teacher, and
  • A 65-year-old man.

In addition to the five fatalities, 22 others sustained injuries—among them 18 students. Ten houses and a dormitory building within a monastery were also damaged or destroyed.

The children who were killed and injured were Grade 1 and Grade 2 students studying at the local primary school. As many of their parents were migrant workers in Thailand, the children were living with grandparents or extended family members at the time of the attack.

The KNU strongly condemned the military junta, stating that its forces have deliberately targeted innocent civilians as enemy combatants. The group accused the junta of intentionally bombing non-military targets, including religious buildings, public hospitals and clinics, schools, and residential areas where civilians live — acts which, they asserted, amount to systematic and targeted killings of unarmed citizens.
