The National Unity Government (NUG) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has officially announced that U Kyaw Zaw, spokesperson for the Office of the President, has been granted leave from his spokesperson duties effective from June 10. The announcement was made by Acting President Duwa Lashi La.

According to the announcement, U Kyaw Zaw will continue serving in other strategic roles within the Presidential Office, particularly in the sectors of strategic engagement and coordination.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. Military Junta Committed a Total of 606 Human Rights Violations in May Alone

The Ministry of Human Rights under the National Unity Government (NUG) has documented a total of 606 human rights violations committed by the terrorist military junta during the month of May 2025.

Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of human rights violations, with 128 cases in May. Meanwhile, Mandalay Region suffered the highest number of aerial attacks, experiencing 71 airstrikes throughout the month.

The Ministry also noted that all other documented violations—including mass killings and other grave incidents—have been systematically recorded, along with the resulting number of fatalities and the extent of destruction and losses.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to equality, peace, and justice for all citizens and stated that it will continue its efforts to hold the military junta accountable for its crimes, pursuing justice to the fullest extent possible.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. NUG Ministry of Health Mourns the Death of Nurse U Aye Maung, Who Died in the Line of Duty During the Spring Revolution

The Ministry of Health under the National Unity Government has announced with sorrow that Nurse U Aye Maung (TN), aged 61, who had been providing medical care and health services to local ethnic civilians and revolutionary fighters in Inndaw Township, Sagaing Region, succumbed to injuries sustained in an airstrike.

He was injured during a military junta airstrike on a clinic in Inndaw Township in April 2025 and passed away on May 22 from those injuries.

The Ministry expressed deep condolences and solidarity with his family, acknowledging his sacrifice on the frontline of the Spring Revolution.

The Ministry further reaffirmed its commitment to continue working hand in hand with all ethnic people of Myanmar until the complete fall of the military dictatorship and the emergence of a Federal Democratic Union of Myanmar, pledging unwavering dedication to this cause.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 4. Chairman of the All-Lapantan Township Student Union (ABFSU), Ko Aung Kote Soe, Severely Beaten by Prison Staff

According to the All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU), Ko Aung Kote Soe, Chairman of the Lapantan Township Student Union, who is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence under Sections 505(a) and 124(a) at Thayarwaddy Prison, was violently assaulted on May 17 by prison staff.

The beating reportedly took place both inside the office of a prison official and in the southern wing of the prison. The ABFSU confirmed that Ko Aung Kote Soe sustained serious injuries as a result.

He was arbitrarily arrested and unjustly imprisoned under Sections 124(a) and 505(a), and remains detained under politically motivated charges.

In areas devastated by the earthquake that struck on March 28, emergency shelter hubs have been successfully constructed to provide safe havens for displaced communities whose homes were destroyed. These shelters, made from durable palm-leaf thatch (Than Hlat Dhani roofing), were established through the coordinated support and sponsorship of Spring Development Bank (SDB), Myan Crypto, and KoeCrypto Studios, according to an announcement by SDB.

The construction of these shelters was carried out at various locations. Images of the completed shelters are only now being released to the public due to prior considerations for the safety and security of local residents.

Ko Htein Lin, the youngest son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, stated that the "Suu 80 Birthday Wish" campaign aims to collect a total of 80,000 birthday wishes with collective participation.

“The Suu 80 Birthday Wish campaign is designed to be a simple and secure platform through which people from all around the world can send birthday wishes to my mother for her 80th birthday. Anyone can submit a birthday wish free of charge,” said Ko Htein Lin.

“My mother has devoted her entire life to democracy and human rights, and she has spent one-fourth of her life either in prison or under house arrest. Her journey reflects nothing but compassion for the people of Myanmar and a singular vision of achieving a peaceful, democratic, and free nation. I kindly ask everyone to contribute at least one birthday wish for my mother. With everyone’s participation, I believe we can reach the goal of 80,000 wishes.”

The campaign seeks to set a world record by collecting all 80,000 birthday wishes within a 10-day period—from June 6 to June 16—in honor of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 80th birthday.

“I cherish every moment I’ve spent with my mother, and I’m sure everyone has moments they’ve shared with her in some way. Her unwavering courage in the face of change has been a source of strength and a ray of hope for the people of Myanmar. While this may seem like a small act, it is in fact a deeply meaningful and enduring expression of our unity and solidarity,” he added.

All birthday wishes will be securely archived online, and will be presented to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi upon her release.
