June 10
Radio NUG
The Karen National Union (KNU) has announced that it successfully captured a Myanmar military outpost located at the A Moe Border Point—also known as Point 2566—on the Myanmar–Thailand border. The statement was released by the KNU’s Myeik–Dawei District on June 10.
According to the statement, the operation to seize the camp began on June 8 and concluded with the complete capture of the base by the afternoon of June 10, following three days of coordinated assault.
The Point 2566 military outpost had been a forward operating base of Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 25 under the command of the junta’s Dawei-based military strategic command. The base was originally established in late 1997 after the junta seized the KNU headquarters in the Thay Thay and Thae Kee areas of the Myeik–Dawei District.
This recent military offensive was spearheaded by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 4, with joint participation from the Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO) Battalion 7, the drone unit of the Karen Drone Strike Force (KDSF), the Forestry Department of the Thimo Phwa region, the Karen National Police Force (KNPF), local security forces, the Karen Women’s Organization (KWO), and allied forces including the TPLF and FFD drone unit.
KNU/KNLA Brigade 4 had, in recent months, also successfully reclaimed former headquarters and military posts in the Thay Thay and Thae Kee border regions, previously lost to the junta in 1997.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Intense Clashes Erupt Near Kyaukphyu No. 32 Police Battalion and in Kan Kauk Kyun Village, Sittwe
June 10
Radio NUG
According to Western News, the Arakan Army (AA) launched a raid on a military camp belonging to the junta near Kan Kauk Kyun Village, Sittwe Township, Rakhine State, in late May.
The assault was carried out during heavy rainfall, at night, when junta troops were caught off guard. During the attack, hundreds of junta soldiers were reportedly killed, and the wounded were evacuated to Sittwe General Hospital and various military hospitals.
AA forces were said to have set fire to and destroyed two armored military vehicles belonging to the junta. The following morning, the AA retreated, but the decomposing stench from the bodies of the junta soldiers, carried by the wind, reportedly spread toward Sittwe City, according to local residents.
The junta has forcibly displaced residents from about 20 villages near Sittwe and constructed fortified military bases in those areas. In Kan Kauk Kyun Village alone, over 200 junta troops and several armored vehicles have been deployed, sources said.
The junta has also laid landmines and conducted heavy artillery shelling toward Paungtaw, Ponna Kyun, and southern Rathidaung. Additionally, junta navy vessels are patrolling the mouths of the Kaladan and Mayu Rivers, while aerial strikes have also been reported.
Separately, in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State, the Narinjara News Agency reported that junta forces suffered heavy casualties on the battlefield and were retreating toward the No. 32 Police Battalion area.
Despite launching a combined assault by land, sea, and air against the Arakan Army near the police battalion compound, the junta’s forces were reportedly suffering mounting losses due to strong counterattacks by the AA. Some junta troops were seen fleeing into the police battalion premises, sources said.
Junta troops are reportedly defending the No. 32 Police Battalion with full strength, and the junta air force is providing significant aerial support.
Although junta forces are desperately trying to defend and prevent the fall of the battalion, reports indicate they are suffering increasing casualties, with growing signs of demoralization, weapon abandonment, and desertions among the troops.
On June 9, junta forces carried out airstrikes using jet fighters and Y-12 aircraft on the Gon Chwein area, including the surroundings of the No. 32 Police Battalion, Pyaing Zay Kae, Nann Hpae Taung, Min Tet Taung, and Ma Lar Kyun. Naval bombardments were also reported.
