June 12
Radio NUG
At approximately 5:00 AM on June 11, the Ramanya Mon Armed Forces (NMSP-AD/RMA) launched an ambush on a Myanmar military convoy traveling in a FAW truck for road security duty on the Mawlamyine–Thanbyuzayat highway, between Yaung Daung Village and Nhi Badaung Village in Mon State, according to official reports.
The military convoy consisted of around 30 junta troops. The ambush took place near the top of Nhi Badaung Village, resulting in a clash that lasted nearly one hour.
Initial reports suggest heavy casualties and injuries on the junta’s side, though exact numbers are still being verified. The NMSP-AD/RMA also reported that one of its officers was killed in action, stating that he sacrificed his life with honor for the country and the people.
The resistance group added that the clash was a response to the junta’s ongoing extortion and violent vehicle checks in the area, where regime troops have been stopping civilian vehicles under the pretense of license checks and harassing locals, particularly in Thanbyuzayat and Mudon Townships.
