๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Junta airstrike kills one civilian and injures two youths in Kyaukme

June 27

The military junta launched a fresh airstrike on Kyaukme, located in northern Shan State and under the control of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), killing one civilian and injuring two young men, according to TNLA reports.

The bombing occurred in the early morning of June 27, during pre-dawn hours, when junta jet aircraft dropped bombs over Kyaukme town.

The attack targeted Ward 7, resulting in the death of a 49-year-old woman, injuries to two male youths aged 19 and 17, and the destruction of two homes, according to TNLA's statement.

This follows a previous junta airstrike on June 24, when two 500-pound bombs were dropped on Kyaukme at midnight, killing two men and two women, and injuring at least 14 civilians. The latest strike occurred three days after that incident.

TNLA stated that during Operation 1027, it took control of multiple northern Shan towns including Kyaukme, Hsipaw, Namhsan, Monglon, Momeik, Mantong, Namtu, Kutkai, Nawnghkio, Namkham, Mongngaw, as well as Mogok in Mandalay Region.

The military junta is currently conducting intense assaults on Nawnghkio in an attempt to regain control. At the same time, Kyaukme, Mogok, and Namtu are being bombed, contributing to intensified fighting in Nawnghkio Township.

TNLA has therefore urged local civilians to remain on high alert for military assaults and to follow air-raid defense protocols to protect themselves from further aerial attacks.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Seven junta soldiers killed in ambush on two military vehicles looting civilian property in Kamma, Pakokku Township

June 27

The Pakokku People’s Defense Force (PPDF) has reported that seven junta soldiers were killed during an ambush on two military vehicles that were looting civilian property in Kamma, a town in Pakokku Township, Magway Region.

According to the statement, the incident occurred at approximately 10:00 a.m. on June 26, when joint revolutionary forces ambushed two junta vehicles that were actively looting items from civilian homes in Kamma. The attack reportedly resulted in seven junta troops killed and a number of others injured.

The military convoy, deployed from Tatmadaw Division 101, based in Pakokku, had been dispatched toward Pauk Township and arrived in Kamma in early June. During the time when local residents were in hiding, the troops set fire to civilian homes and stole property, prompting the resistance forces to launch the attack.

The convoy has since been blocked and trapped in Kamma due to coordinated attacks by People’s Defense Forces (PDFs), and is reportedly unable to proceed to its intended destination.

The ambush was jointly carried out by:

  • Pakokku People’s Defense Force (PPDF)
  • ABSDF Column 3
  • Aung Kyaw - RG
  • Township People’s Liberation Force (Pa La Pha)
  • Tiger Warrior Force (TWF)
  • Anyar Guerrilla Force led by Ko Zaw Mike
  • Youth Guerrilla Force (YGF) led by Ko Yekhae and Ko Bala

No casualties were reported on the side of the joint resistance forces.

Since the convoy is believed to be heading toward Pauk Township, local revolutionary forces have issued an urgent alert for civilians in the area to remain highly cautious and vigilant.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Clashes ongoing in five villages of Nawnghkio Township between junta troops and TNLA

June 27

According to a statement released on June 27 by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), ongoing battles are taking place in five villages of Nawnghkio Township, a region in the Third Military Region of Northern Shan State, between junta forces and TNLA troops.

The fighting is occurring in the villages of Nawnghpa, Nyan Taw, Lonsan, Ommakha, and Nawnglin, with the junta reportedly deploying 70 rounds of heavy artillery, drones, and 32 aerial bombs during the clashes.

In a battle that took place yesterday between Nawnglin and Nawnghpa villages, the junta launched 39 artillery shells and 17 drone-dropped bombs, damaging at least one civilian home.

In Nyan Taw village, the junta reportedly used 31 artillery rounds and 15 bombs dropped via drones in their assault.

The Three Brotherhood Alliance, which includes the TNLA, has previously stated that their forces are not conducting offensive operations in these conflict areas in order to maintain humanitarian relief efforts for earthquake-affected civilians. They also affirmed a unilateral one-month ceasefire extension. However, the junta has taken advantage of this ceasefire window to launch continuous attacks, leading to escalating conflict in Nawnghkio Township.

TNLA spokesperson Lwe Yway Oo said the TNLA is only conducting defensive counterattacks in response to the junta’s aggression, in accordance with the extended ceasefire that remains in effect until the end of this month.

The PSLF/TNLA Information and Public Relations Department has urged civilians to remain on high alert and follow airstrike preparedness guidelines in order to stay safe from the junta's aerial bombardments.
