July 11
Radio NUG

More than 120 workers from a rubber manufacturing factory operated by Pa Siam Industry Co., Ltd, located in Samut Sakhon District, Thailand, have filed a legal complaint at the Sawaidikan Office in Samut Sakhon after the factory failed to pay their wages. According to a statement released by the Complaint Mechanism of the NUG Ministry of Labour, despite demands for wage payments, the factory did not fully comply and instead subjected the workers to various forms of workplace harassment.

The affected workers reported the issue to the MHAC (Migrant Humanitarian Assistance Committee), a labour rights coalition. On July 2, officials from the NUG Ministry of Labour and members of the MHAC met with the workers outside the factory premises to discuss the situation and document their needs. Following this, on July 8, a formal complaint was filed at the Sawaidikan Office on behalf of 50 of the affected workers.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. Complaint Filed After 27 Myanmar Workers Laid Off Without Compensation by Thai Auto Parts Factory

July 11
Radio NUG

A total of 27 Myanmar workers from APGO, an auto parts manufacturing factory in Chonburi District, Thailand, were laid off without receiving severance pay, according to reports.

The workers, who had served between 7 to 13 years at the factory, were informed on July 7, 2025, by a factory representative that the factory would be shut down starting from July 8, 2025, and that all employees would be terminated. The company further stated it would only provide one month’s wage and an additional THB 5,000 as compensation.

As these long-serving workers were entitled to proper severance benefits, they demanded fair compensation in accordance with their years of service. However, the factory refused to pay the appropriate amounts. As a result, the workers, through MHAC, sought legal assistance to pursue just compensation. On July 9, 2025, MHAC and officials from the National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Labour jointly filed a formal complaint on the workers’ behalf at the Sawaidikan Office in Chonburi District.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. Myanmar Bar Council Declares Military Junta's Conscription Law Illegal

July 11
Radio NUG

The Myanmar Bar Council has issued a statement declaring that the enforcement of the People’s Military Service Law, approved by junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, is illegal.

According to Section 1(b) of the People’s Military Service Law, enacted by the now-defunct State Peace and Development Council (SPDC), the law can only come into effect on a date designated by an official notification issued by the SPDC Chairman. Since this clause precisely defines who holds the legal authority to enact the law and the procedures required, the recent enforcement of the law by the current State Administration Council (SAC) Chairman was deemed unlawful.

Moreover, under the 2011 Law Amending Terminology, the term “Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council” has been officially replaced with “President of the State.” Therefore, only the President has the legal authority to enforce such a law—not the current junta leader.

The Bar Council emphasized that any entities currently implementing this conscription law are engaging in unlawful acts. It further stated that individuals forcibly conscripted into the military and their families are victims of this illegitimate law.

In addition, the Council noted that the harm caused by this law constitutes widespread and systematic crimes against humanity.
