On July 13, in the afternoon, the junta launched an aerial attack by dropping seven bombs from a fighter jet.
The Waw Lay strategic base, which had been surrounded and attacked by drone strikes from joint resistance forces led by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), sustained a direct drone bombing hit on its ammunition depot on July 11, resulting in a massive explosion, the Force for Federal Democracy (FFD) stated.
Furthermore, on July 12, following the seizure of Ukrith military base near Waw Lay by KNLA and allied revolutionary forces, the junta retaliated with airstrikes on the Waw Lay region.
At present, among the junta’s military outposts along the Thai border, only Waw Lay strategic base and Tiseik Hlae outpost, located to the south of Myawaddy, remain under junta control, as other bases have been successively seized by resistance forces led by the KNLA.
