The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that the Myanmar military junta carried out another airstrike on Hsipaw Town, located in Military Region 2 of Ta’ang territory, Shan State.
According to the report, on the night of July 20 at 10:20 PM, a fighter jet dropped a 250-pound bomb on the site of a former junta military base, Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 23.
Similarly, on July 19, the junta conducted another airstrike using a jet fighter, dropping three 250-pound bombs on Hsipaw, which exploded in the Zatsut and Shwe Kyaung wards. These explosions caused damage to several buildings within an AMK (basic education) school compound.
The TNLA further noted that the junta previously targeted Hsipaw with airstrikes on July 4 and July 14 as well. In these attacks, bombs were deliberately dropped in areas densely populated by civilians. As a result of these earlier bombings:
- 2 civilians were killed
- 5 others were injured
- 13 houses and 6 buildings were damaged or destroyed
The TNLA warns that in light of the military’s ongoing air assaults, civilians must remain vigilant and regularly follow military safety precautions, especially airstrike preparedness and defense protocols, to protect themselves from further attacks.

The Wanpalu Subdivision of the Moebye People’s Defense Force (PDF), Battalion 1, has celebrated its fourth founding anniversary, according to available reports.
The Wanpalu unit was formed shortly after the military coup on February 1, 2021, starting with peaceful protests and later participating in the seizure of the Moebye police station, which marked their first armed resistance efforts.
As the PDF grew in structure and strength, members of the Wanpalu unit were initially assigned duties in the "Two-Hundred Thousand Bird" Division (Bat. 2). With increasing personnel, Wanpalu evolved and was re-established as an independent Battalion-level unit within the Moebye PDF structure.
Despite numerous hardships, the unit has continued to grow, thanks to the support of the public, logistics teams, and the relentless determination of its fighters.
A representative from the unit expressed deep gratitude, stating:
“We, the Wanpalu Subdivision, are sincerely thankful to each and every supporter who has always been ready to fulfill our needs without hesitation. We humbly appeal to our supporters to continue standing with us until our revolution succeeds.”
