The Golden Peacock Attack Force has announced that it carried out a landmine attack on a convoy of junta military vehicles departing from a base stationed at Baudhi Thitdaung Hill Tower, where the North Western Regional Command (NaMaKha) is headquartered in Monywa Township.
According to the report, the attack took place at 12:33 p.m. on July 27, at a section of road between Monywa and Baudhi Thitdaung, targeting a convoy of military vehicles that was en route to deliver rations and retrieve the body of a deputy officer who had previously died in a landmine blast. The convoy included a Jummer vehicle and two armored vehicles.
The landmine was effectively detonated between multiple layers of junta outposts, hitting the last vehicle in the convoy, which then came to a halt. Following the blast, junta troops and base guards on the vehicle opened fire indiscriminately using light weapons and 40mm grenade launchers.
The attack was a joint operation conducted by the Monywa Township People's Defense Mines Unit, the Golden Peacock Attack Force, and the Area 71 Local People’s Defence Force (LPDF). The groups successfully retreated without casualties, according to the statement.
