Members of the Central Leading Committee of the Student Armed Forces/Student Guerrilla Forces held an online meeting on June 29, 2025, with U Yee Mon, Union Minister for Defense of the National Unity Government (NUG), according to an official release.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the current political and military situations in regions where the Student Armed Forces are active, as well as upcoming plans of operation.
Key points of agreement and coordination included:
- Military Strategy in Magway Region – Coordination was made to implement operational plans through division of responsibilities between the Student Armed Forces and military units under the Ministry of Defense, ensuring realistic and effective execution on the ground.
- Joint Financial Collaboration – Agreements were reached on shared access and usage of financial resources.
- Strengthening Local Coordination – Plans were made for enhanced engagement and cooperation with relevant officials from the Ministry of Defense and the Magway Region Military Command to jointly implement field operations.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Brave Soldiers from SSNDF/KNDF B-101 and KNDF B-08 Fall Honorably in Battle

According to a press release from Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) Strategic Command 9, Battalion B-101, a KNDF fighter, Kyaw Sein Lin, also known as A Hsaing, aged 21, with military ID SS-A-0175, fell heroically in combat near Mobye, Karenni State, on June 29, 2025, during a fierce battle against junta troops.
The statement honored A Hsaing as a fighter who dutifully fulfilled his assigned responsibilities and sacrificed his life for the country’s liberation and the realization of a federal democratic union. He has been posthumously recognized as a martyr and national hero. Members of his battalion expressed their deep sorrow and solidarity with his family.
In addition, during a separate battle on June 26, members of KNDF Battalion 8 also suffered casualties. Those who fell included:
- Deputy Battalion Commander Winston,
- Company 1 Commander Zaw One,
- and Private Steefin.
They were killed in intense exchange of fire with junta troops.
According to the statement, Winston began his military journey in mid-2021, having joined Basic Training Batch 2 of KNDF Battalion 8. He rose through the ranks from private to company commander and later to deputy battalion commander in 2024.
He was known to be a quiet but resolute leader, admired for his strong discipline and sincere relationships with his comrades, particularly with junior fighters.
KNDF Battalion 8 expressed its profound grief and solidarity with the families of the fallen heroes, honoring their sacrifice for the revolution.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Four Junta Soldiers Killed in Coordinated Attacks by Battalion 598 and Revolutionary Forces from Thure Thumein Village

According to a statement by the Pa Ka Pha (PDF) of Bago District, four junta soldiers were killed when troops from Battalion 598 based in Shwegyin Township, Bago Region, in coordination with revolutionary forces from Thure Thumein village, Waw Township, launched an attack on junta units.
The operation took place around midday on June 29, targeting junta troops who were rebuilding bunkers and trenches at Battalion 598's base. The attackers used heavy weapons to strike the site.
Simultaneously, sniper fire was directed at a junta heavy weapon firing position near Thure Thumein village, further intensifying the coordinated assault.
According to local sources, the attacks resulted in the deaths of four junta soldiers, with additional casualties also reported.
The operation was a joint effort involving:
- KNU/KNLA Brigade 3, Battalion 7,
- Pa Ka Pha of Bago District,
- and Strategic Command 36, Daung Battalion.
In addition, Bago District Pa Ka Pha is currently organizing a humanitarian fundraising campaign titled “One Thousand Sacks of Rice, One Hundred Lakhs” to support resistance fighters, refugees, and civilians displaced by the conflict in its eight townships. They appealed to supporters both inside the country and abroad to contribute generously.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Two Clashes Erupt as Junta Troops Attack a Revolutionary Checkpoint in Bokpyin Township

According to Battalion 1 of Kawthaung District, two clashes occurred when junta forces attempted to assault a revolutionary security checkpoint located between Chaung Mhone and Wa Din villages in Bokpyin Township, Tanintharyi Region.
At around 6:00 a.m. on June 21, a junta force of over 50 soldiers advanced from the Bokpyin side and established a position at Bo Daw village, while another group of over 40 soldiers approached from the Lenya side. They jointly launched an assault on the checkpoint manned by allied revolutionary forces.
The first clash, involving exchanges of heavy and light weapons, lasted approximately 30 minutes. The revolutionary fighters were able to successfully withdraw without any casualties.
Later that morning, after regrouping and preparing for a counterattack, the revolutionary forces launched a second assault at around 10:00 a.m., using 40 mm and 60 mm grenades along with small arms. This second battle also lasted around 30 minutes, during which casualties were reportedly inflicted on the junta side.
This coordinated response involved joint forces from:
- KNLA Battalion 203, Company 4,
- Kawthaung District Battalion 1, Company 2,
- Special Operations Force (PDF),
- People’s Defense Force of Bokpyin Township (Pa Ka Pha),
- Flying Star Force, and
- People’s Police Force of Bokpyin Township.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. 17-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead by Junta Troops While Heading Out to Play Football in Seikphyu Township

According to Battalion 4, Company 1 of Pakokku District People's Defense Force (PDF), junta troops shot and killed a 17-year-old youth named Maung Aung Thu Tun in Ngachyinchaung village, Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, as he was on his way to play football.
The incident occurred on June 28 in the afternoon, when approximately 50 junta soldiers, divided into three groups, entered the village from the east, west, and south. Upon arrival, the soldiers conducted mobile phone checks on youths playing football in a field outside the village and attempted to arrest them.
Maung Aung Thu Tun, who arrived at the field by motorcycle, reportedly panicked upon seeing the junta soldiers and tried to flee. However, as he turned back to retrieve a dropped phone, the soldiers shot him twice from behind—once striking his leg and the second shot hitting him in the back, causing his immediate death on the spot.
After the shooting, the junta troops wrapped his body in a longyi (sarong) and carried it away. His body was later found discarded by the roadside, and he was laid to rest on June 30.
As of now, junta troops are stationed in Ngachyinchaung, Kyaung Ywa, Kone Ywa, and Kyitpyin villages, located between the Seikphyu–Sauk Road and the Pathein–Monywa Highway. Internet services in the area have also reportedly been cut off.

According to a statement by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), a landmine explosion occurred in Thaya Kone Ward, Namhkam, northern Shan State—part of TNLA Brigade 6’s territory—resulting in the death of one woman.
The incident happened around 3:30 PM on June 29, near the old Namhkam resettlement camp, when the woman was clearing a cornfield. Reports indicate the landmine detonated upon contact, causing severe injuries to her face and head.
The victim has been identified as Daw Aah Phain, aged 30. She died on the way to receive medical treatment.
It was also reported that on May 29, a man near Ho Paw U Htaik village in Namhkam Township stepped on a landmine while inspecting a power line, resulting in the loss of his right leg.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. Three Civilians Killed as Junta Conducts Airstrike on Thone Se Village, Naungcho Township

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) reported that a junta airstrike on Thone Se Village, Naungcho Township, located in the territory of TNLA Brigade 3 in northern Shan State, killed three civilians and injured one.
According to the report, on July 1, the junta aircraft dropped a total of 11 bombs in four separate strikes at 3:15 PM, 3:16 PM, 3:20 PM, and 3:23 PM.
As a result of the bombing, three men were killed, one man was injured, and two houses as well as two monks' dormitories sustained damage.
TNLA also noted that on June 29, junta forces conducted another airstrike using jet fighters in Kyaukme, dropping six 250-pound bombs. That attack injured six civilians—two women and four men—and damaged 14 houses, one school, and two monasteries.

A junta soldier from Kalayar Regiment 52, stationed in Kanbalu Township, has reportedly defected along with his entire family, seeking refuge with the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Homalin Township.
According to the statement, the soldier cited hierarchical injustices within the military, the regime’s unlawful oppression of civilians, and the airstrikes on civilian populations and schools as reasons for his defection, stating that he could no longer tolerate such actions.
