๐๐ 6. SDB Bank Urges Users to Proactively Change Linked Email Passwords to Enhance Account Security
July 1
Radio NUG
In a public advisory issued on July 1, SDB (Spring Development Bank) urged all users to proactively change the password of the email account linked to their SDB account, in order to enhance security and prevent potential risks.
“Recently, in June 2025, there was a massive data breach that exposed login credentials (usernames and passwords) of approximately 16 billion internet accounts worldwide. In light of this, SDB users are strongly advised to take preventive measures to stop unauthorized fund transfers or withdrawals from their accounts,” the bank stated.
SDB clarified that there has been no breach of its own systems to date, but emphasized that users should still take precautions by changing the passwords of their email accounts linked to SDB, as a first line of defense.
The bank further warned that if a user’s email password is identical or similar to their SDB account password, it poses a serious financial security risk. In such cases, users are urged to:
- Set a completely different new password and PIN,
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for stronger protection.
If users face any difficulties while enhancing their account security, they are encouraged to reach out via SDB’s Live Chat or Facebook Page Messenger.
These updates were reported by Radio NUG correspondents Tharki, Min Sitt Thway, and Khur Shel.
