🚩🚩 1. Four Junta Soldiers Killed in Rocket and Heavy Artillery Attack on Pakokku Airfield
July 6
Four junta soldiers were killed in an attack involving rockets and heavy artillery on the Pakokku Airfield in Magway Region, according to a statement released this afternoon, July 6, by the COBRA ONE Heavy Artillery Unit of the Pakokku Township People’s Defense Force (PaKaF).
The announcement follows up on a prior attack that took place at 10:48 a.m. on July 5, during which rockets were launched at the Pakokku Airfield.
COBRA ONE confirmed that four junta soldiers were killed in the strike, and several others sustained injuries—some of them reportedly in critical condition.
According to initial information released by COBRA ONE, out of the ten rockets launched, five landed and exploded within the airfield compound, injuring 13 junta soldiers—three of them seriously—and damaging the runway infrastructure.
The Pakokku Airfield has reportedly been used by the junta military to deploy Y-12 aircraft and military helicopters for indiscriminate bombing attacks against civilians. It also serves as a key base for junta troops who conduct ground raids on civilian villages, looting public property and targeting non-combatants.
The attack on the airfield was a coordinated effort carried out by multiple resistance groups:
- COBRA ONE Heavy Artillery Unit (Pakokku PaKaF)
- Battalion 1 of Pakokku Township PaKaF
- Column 1
- BA NYEIN GUERRILLA FORCE
- District PaKaF Column-5
- Eyar Daung Region-1 Defense PLO Young Force
- Daung Brothers (PKU)
- Southern YSO

🚩🚩 2. Junta Air Force Conducts Midnight Bombing Raid on Kyaukme Town
July 6
According to the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), junta forces carried out a bombing raid on Kyaukme Town in Northern Shan State, part of Military Region 2 of the Ta’ang region, using a jet fighter around midnight.
At exactly 12:00 a.m. on July 5, a junta jet dropped a bomb on Kyaukme, damaging four buildings in Ward 2 of the town.
Just a day earlier, on the night of July 4, the junta military had also bombed the town of Hsipaw, dropping two bombs using jet fighters, despite the absence of any clashes at the time. That airstrike damaged a ward of the public hospital, five municipal buildings, and eight residential homes.
In June, the junta had previously bombed Kyaukme from the air, again without any active combat in the area. That attack resulted in injuries to 22 civilians—including two children—and the deaths of five others. Sixty-five homes, three schools, and two monasteries were also destroyed, according to a report from the PSLF/TNLA Information Department.
As such, the PSLF/TNLA has issued a warning to the general public to remain vigilant of further military attacks and to implement air raid precaution measures for their own safety.

🚩🚩 3. Junta Launches Airstrike on Kyunhla Without Any Ground Clashes
July 6
In Kyunhla Township, Sagaing Region, junta forces carried out an aerial bombing on the morning of July 6 using three fighter jets, despite the absence of any ongoing clashes, according to local sources.
The airstrikes, which began around 6:30 a.m., were launched from Tada-U airbase. The bombings reportedly targeted the area around Kone Gyi Taung village, raising concerns about civilian casualties. However, communication networks in the area are currently down, and casualty verification is still underway.
Despite no active fighting on the ground, fighter jets from Tada-U carried out this sudden and unprovoked air assault. The Kawlin Revolution (KR), a local resistance information group, also released a statement this morning confirming the attack.
On the afternoon of July 4, similar airstrikes were launched by two jet fighters from Tada-U and Meiktila airbases, targeting Thirimun and Hnaw Pin Byan villages in Kanbalu Township. That strike, carried out in three waves, hit travelers and drivers who were waiting due to road closures. Among the injured, two later died on July 5, according to KR.

🚩🚩 5. Five Junta Soldiers Defect with Weapons to KNLA Brigade 4 in Tanintharyi
July 6
Five junta soldiers defected with their weapons and surrendered to the Karen National Union/Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) Brigade 4 in Tanintharyi Region, according to an announcement from the KNU Myeik-Dawei District Office on July 6.
The defectors reportedly approached the KNLA’s Battalion 11 under Brigade 4 on July 5, during active clashes between resistance forces and junta troops along the Tanintharyi-Mawtaung road.
The defectors were identified as troops from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 103 and LIB 267, and they surrendered with two firearms, confirmed by Padoh Saw El Nah, Secretary of the KNU’s Myeik-Dawei District for Brigade 4.
This follows similar defections—one junta soldier surrendered on July 1, and three others defected to KNLA Brigade 4 in June, according to military records.
Most of the defectors are reportedly new recruits from the junta forces. Padoh Saw El Nah advised any junta soldiers wishing to defect to consult local villagers in the area and make contact with nearby resistance forces to arrange a safe surrender.
KNLA Brigade 4 and allied forces have successfully seized multiple junta outposts this year, including Thikee and Thit Hta bases located near the Myanmar-Thailand border, and continue to mount offensives against junta forces along the Mawtaung–Tanintharyi border corridor in an effort to reclaim control.
