๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. KNLA Joint Forces Seize “Thuka” Military Camp on Thai–Myanmar Border

July 8 — Radio NUG

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and allied forces have successfully seized the Thuka Military Camp, located on the Thai–Myanmar border within the Kawthoolei-administered territory of the Karen National Union (KNU) in Myeik–Dawei District, according to an official statement.

The Thuka–Masottan Defensive Camp, which had been manned by approximately 30 junta troops, was gradually encircled starting in late June. By the time of the final assault on July 7, all junta personnel had reportedly fled across the border into Thailand.

The seizure operation involved the coordinated efforts of the KNLA’s Battalion 10, 12, and 27, as well as the Dawei People’s Liberation Force, the Student Revolutionary Force, the Thagara Column and Drone Unit, Drone Commandos from Bawthoo Army, and Drone Commandos from the Way Hin Unit.

The Thuka Camp is located in Lu Ei Taso Township, formerly the district capital under KNU’s Myeik–Dawei District. It had been overtaken by the Myanmar military in 1997, after which Light Infantry Battalions 22 and 282 had maintained a presence there.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Junta Supply Convoy Attacked with Landmines Near Yaysakyo

July 8 — Radio NUG

A junta supply convoy consisting of 10 civilian vehicles was attacked with landmines while transporting military rations near Yaysakyo Township, Magway Region, according to a statement from the People’s Defense Force (Pa-Ka-Fa) of Yaysakyo Township.

The convoy was reportedly carrying rations—originally delivered by over 20 military vessels via the Chindwin River—intended for three junta battalions based in the area. The rations had been offloaded near the office of retired military officer Nyein Zani.

On July 7, the rations were to be transported using commandeered civilian trucks, which had been assembled and parked near Nyein Zani’s office. Junta troops then drove the convoy themselves.

At approximately 6:00 PM, a group of five anti-personnel mines was detonated from a concealed location near junta ambush points as the convoy passed. One truck was heavily damaged, and casualties were reported.

Detailed information on casualties is still under investigation. The convoy reportedly managed to reach the military bases.

July 8 — Radio NUG

In Nganzun Township, Myingyan District, Mandalay Region, four junta soldiers were killed in a landmine attack while lying in ambush near a unit that was clearing landmines along the Myothar–Gway Kone road, according to a statement released by the Naga Nyi Guerrilla Force.

On July 6, at around 6:00 AM, over 200 junta troops from Gway Kone Base and Myothar Base—using local civilians as human shields—conducted a demining operation aimed at clearing landmines previously laid by Naga Nyi Guerrilla Force, Myingyan District Battalion 3.

Due to the risk of civilian casualties, the resistance fighters had to temporarily withdraw and allowed the junta forces to remove about 10 landmines. However, two pressure-triggered mines had been deliberately placed in a separate area further away, where a separate junta unit was stationed in ambush.

These two mines were successfully detonated, killing four junta soldiers and seriously injuring two others, according to the statement.
