๐๐ 1. CPRI Urges Immediate Halt to Inter-Factional Clashes Among Chin Groups
July 8 — Radio NUG
The Chin Peace and Reconciliation Initiatives (CPRI) has called for an immediate cessation of the ongoing armed conflicts between Chin brotherhood groups within Chin State, according to reports by Chin news agencies on July 8.
Beginning on July 2, clashes erupted in Falam Township, Chin State, between the HPO/CDF-Hualngoram and CNO/CNDF forces, escalating into direct armed confrontations.
CPRI Chair U Byak Lian Thang (also the General Secretary of CBANA) expressed deep regret over these internal confrontations, stating:
“It is disheartening to learn of bloodshed and armed conflicts between brotherhood forces in Chin State today. Therefore, we urge all groups to refrain from directing their weapons at fellow Chin forces. We believe peaceful dialogue at the negotiation table can bring solutions. Hence, we appeal in the name of the Lord Jesus to immediately halt all mutual hostilities.”
CPRI Vice Chair U Kyeh Olian Thang (General Secretary of CBCUSA) also remarked:
“We have always emphasized that this is a time for national revolution and unity. Yet we are now witnessing internal differences escalating into armed conflict, which is truly disheartening. Armed violence will never be a viable solution to these disagreements. We therefore call for an immediate end to all hostilities. If possible, ideological differences should be resolved through roundtable dialogue, and as brothers, we must instead unite against the military junta.”
U Hre Mang, Joint General Secretary of CPRI, also urged the public to refrain from posting or spreading hate-inciting content on social media. He warned against disseminating materials—even if factual—that could undermine peace, and emphasized the importance of avoiding blame or condemnation of any group using false information. He also called on the public not to cause any misperception of Chin resistance groups in the eyes of the Indian and Mizoram governments.
He added that such actions ultimately benefit the oppressive military junta.
In addition, CPRI Treasurer Stephen Thang Lian and Secretary Henry Van Kyeh Olian encouraged Chin pastors and preachers to deliver messages of peace and reconciliation during church services and religious sermons, in keeping with the Christian faith of the Chin people.

Chinese foreign ministry officials reportedly issued this warning during a meeting with KIA representatives in May. The warning illustrates how Beijing is leveraging its dominance in rare earth mineral supply chains to pursue geopolitical objectives.
The report further notes that China is using its influence to support Myanmar’s military regime and views its economic interests in northern Myanmar as a strategic backyard that must be safeguarded.

๐๐ 3. Three Japanese Investors Cut Business Ties with Shwe Thanlwin Company
July 8 — Radio NUG
Three Japanese investment entities have severed their business ties with Dream Vision Co., Ltd, a Myanmar-based company affiliated with the Shwe Thanlwin Group, citing concerns over transparency and respect for human rights standards.
The three entities are:
Japan International Broadcasting Inc. (JIB)
Cool Japan Fund Inc.
Fund Corporation for the Overseas Development of Japan’s ICT and Postal Services (JICT)
Shwe Thanlwin Media is known to be a subsidiary of the Shwe Thanlwin Group (STLG), which has been identified by the UN Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar as a crony conglomerate closely tied to Myanmar’s military junta and profiting from that relationship.
Justice For Myanmar (JFM) spokesperson Yadanar Maung stated:
“JIB, Cool Japan Fund, and JICT must promptly and fully clarify the reasons behind their withdrawal from Myanmar. We need transparency on whether human rights due diligence was conducted in relation to their exit from Dream Vision, whether their investments contributed to the profits of military-aligned cronies, and whether any harm mitigation measures were taken. Their failure to address these questions raises unacceptable concerns about lack of transparency and whether they fulfilled their human rights responsibilities as investors.”
