3. The Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government reports that a military junta airstrike on the "Charging Hospital," a public hospital established by the Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government in eastern Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, killed five civilians, including young children. On July 29, at 10:25 PM and 10:33 PM, a junta fighter jet bombed the hospital, directly hitting the inpatient building where internally displaced people were receiving treatment. Besides the fatalities, hospital staff and patients were seriously injured, and many inhaled toxic gas. The Ministry of Human Rights, committed to equality, peace, and justice, will seek to punish the junta for these crimes.

4. The Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government (NUG) has released detailed information on three drone attacks carried out by the military junta on Kyauk Gyi Kone Pagoda near Myet Shyu Village, Nawnghkio Township, Mandalay Region, on July 26, which killed six civilians—including four children—and injured six others. Junta forces, around 150 troops, launched three drone bombs after advancing from Tada-U Township. There had been no active clashes in the area at the time of the strike. The attack, which damaged the pagoda, forced more than 1,000 local residents from three nearby villages to flee their homes for safety. The Ministry condemned the junta for escalating assaults on civilian areas and religious sites, particularly during the traditionally peaceful Buddhist Lent period.

5. Following the end of the state of emergency in Myanmar, Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi issued a statement on August 1, urging the military junta to immediately cease violence and release all detainees, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The statement expressed deep concern about the continued detention of political figures and civilians since the February 2021 coup and condemned ongoing violent acts, including airstrikes. While the junta announced elections between December 2025 and January 2026, Iwaya Takeshi warned that elections alone, without the release of detainees and inclusive dialogue, would not constitute genuine progress and could provoke further unrest. Japan reiterated its call for the release of all political detainees and urged concrete steps toward restoring democratic governance. Iwaya Takeshi emphasized the need to halt all violence. Japan reaffirmed its support for the people of Myanmar, pledging to listen to their voices and enhance dialogue, while also committing to humanitarian and livelihood assistance, particularly for those affected by the earthquake and ongoing conflict.
