August 2
The TNLA has confirmed that a renewed aerial bombing by the military on Mongkoe, a town under the control of the PSLF/TNLA, has killed 12 civilians and injured 14 others.
At around 8:00 AM this morning, August 2, the military launched an airstrike using a jet fighter and dropped two 250-pound bombs, resulting in civilian casualties.
The People’s Security Force of Mongkoe Township also reported that the airstrike hit the western part of the town at 8:25 AM.
According to TNLA sources, the bombing took place during a time when local residents were actively moving about in western Mongkoe. The attack killed one monk, one child, and ten men, and injured twelve men and two women. Additionally, ten homes, three cars, and three motorcycles were damaged by the blast.
Just days earlier, on July 29, the military had conducted another airstrike on the eastern side of Mongkoe, killing one man and two women, injuring eleven men and seven women, and damaging fourteen homes.
According to records from the TNLA’s Information and Public Relations Department, the military carried out five airstrikes on Mongkoe throughout July. These resulted in the deaths of two children, one woman, and six men, injuries to four children, twelve women, and twenty-seven men, and the destruction of thirty-eight houses.
Mongkoe is among the towns placed under martial law by the military junta. The military has declared martial law in a total of 63 towns, including areas under TNLA control, and resistance forces have warned civilians in those areas to remain vigilant against the risk of aerial attacks.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. KIA claims it destroyed five military vessels advancing toward Bhamo
August 2
According to Laiza TV, the media arm of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), five military vessels advancing toward Bhamo via the Irrawaddy River from Shwegu were destroyed by the KIA and allied forces.
Two vessels were reportedly destroyed on August 1, and three more on July 31.
The convoy, which included ground troops and was backed by aerial cover, was attacked by the KIA and allied resistance forces as it moved up the Irrawaddy River toward Bhamo. Local sources say clashes occurred and that the military sustained losses.
The flotilla, which departed from Mandalay and navigated through areas actively contested by resistance forces, reportedly reached Bhamo at around 10:00 PM on August 1.
Local media outlets, citing a CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) officer, reported that over 600 troops were aboard the vessels, including two infantry battalions, artillery units, medical personnel, and a Russian-trained drone unit.
The KIA and its allied forces have been conducting an offensive to capture Bhamo since early December of last year, and fighting has continued for nearly nine months. Despite the prolonged offensive, the military has been fiercely resisting with heavy reliance on air support.
Bhamo remains one of the last strongholds held by the junta’s 21st Military Operations Command. With the addition of riverine and artillery reinforcements, military analysts believe the intensity of the fighting will only escalate.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. KNDF warns of potential heavy artillery strikes in Pruso as junta reinforces positions
August 2
The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) has warned civilians in Pruso Township, Karenni State, to exercise heightened caution due to the possibility of heavy artillery attacks as the military continues to transport ammunition and supplies to its frontline positions.
The KNDF issued the alert after the military was observed replenishing munitions and logistical supplies to the existing army bases and to the Advanced Training School No. 14 based in Pruso Township.
On July 31, between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM, the junta deployed cargo aircraft to air-drop ammunition and supplies to military bases within the town and to Training School No. 14 located in Lawjar village.
Reports also indicate that similar air-drops were conducted earlier in July on the 8th and 19th, when the junta delivered weapons and supplies to military bases in Pruso by parachute.
The KNDF has called on civilians living in nearby villages to remain especially alert and to take extra precautions, as there is increased risk of indiscriminate shelling by junta forces in the area.
This report was filed by Radio NUG correspondent Ko Khant.
