At Homalin Airbase in Sagaing Region, an SAC Air Force officer named Myat Ko Ko, holding the rank of captain, committed suicide on September 3 with his service pistol while on security duty near Kattha Village by the Chindwin River bridge, according to the Monywa Township Information Network.
Reports indicate that on the evening of September 2, an Air Force officer visited his residence and subjected him to pressure and coercion, which may have contributed to his suicide.
Instances of suicide among soldiers and officers have been increasing within the junta’s forces due to pressure, intimidation, and declining morale.

Additionally, in Kale Township, another soldier killed four of his comrades, including a senior sergeant, before defecting and surrendering to the People’s Defence Force (PDF).
Within the SAC military, soldiers are often kept under control through their families, and those without family support are left with no way out, leading to more suicides and deliberate deaths during combat.
