A “Nationwide Anti-Election March and Protest” was held in Seoul on October 4 to strongly denounce the junta’s sham election. According to MFDMC (Myanmar Federal Democracy Movement Committee), over 400 Myanmar revolution supporters in Korea took part in the protest, voicing their firm opposition to the military regime’s fake election.
The demonstration was organized by the “Joint Committee for the Anti-Junta Election Movement,” composed of 39 revolutionary organizations, in cooperation with the NUG Representative Office in Korea. Participants included revolutionaries and activists from 16 cities across South Korea — Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Incheon, Bucheon, Paju, Gwangju, Pocheon, Gimpo, Ansan, Pyeongtaek, Cheonan, Daejeon, Daegu, Gumi, Gimhae, Busan, and Geoje.
In his opening remarks, U Yan Naing Tun, NUG’s Myanmar Representative to the Republic of Korea, stated that “The sham election designed to prolong the dictatorship must not be tolerated. The people’s power belongs solely to the people,” calling on all to resist and revolt against the junta.
U Win Paw Maung, Co-Chair of the Committee Against the Military Coup, also remarked that “This protest marks the beginning of our anti-election movement in Korea, and we will continue to intensify it — even to the extent of establishing protest camps if necessary.”
During the second part of the event, several representatives delivered solidarity speeches — including U Thaung Tun (Chairman of NLD-OC Korea), Dae Gu Bhone Bhone, U Phone Naing (Deputy Chair of MFDMC), Van Kyel Lyan (Secretary of the Chin Youth Organization), and Ko Ye from the Gimhae Nway Oo Revolutionary Group.
Representatives Daw K Tway Aung (from JDC/ODC) and Ko Chet (from MFDMC) delivered words of thanks, while revolutionary youths read out a joint declaration in both Burmese and Korean.
The declaration urged all people of Myanmar to “completely reject and actively dismantle the terrorist junta’s sham election through every means available.” It also called on the Korean government and public to “unequivocally condemn the junta’s fake election and refuse to recognize any results or government arising from it.”

The deceased, identified as Daw Khin Thei, had been living alone after being abandoned by her family and survived through daily labor. She reportedly owed around 1.5 million kyats and had been struggling to repay her daily interest loans.
Before taking her life, she left a note saying, “I can’t repay my debt, so I’m jumping into the river. Please send my bicycle to Daw Khin Thei’s house near Dhamma Yate Monastery.”

📌📌 7. Revolutionary forces call for “Thadingyut Candlelight Strike” on Full Moon Day to express the People’s Three Demands
October 4 — Radio NUG
During the traditional Thadingyut Festival, revolutionary groups have called on the public to participate in a “Candlelight Strike” — lighting candles in honor of the Buddha while expressing defiance against the dictatorship.
This action aims to highlight three core demands of the people, by lighting candles in windows, house fronts, and memorial spaces nationwide.
The three symbolic intentions of the Candlelight Strike are as follows:
- Freedom for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners — candles symbolizing the path from the darkness of imprisonment to the light of liberation, offered with prayers for their release.
- Rejection of forced military conscription — expressing full resistance to the unjust law that abducts and coerces youths into becoming human shields for the junta; each candle represents a wish for a safe and just future for the younger generation.
- Denunciation of Min Aung Hlaing’s illegitimate sham election — rejecting an election conducted without public consent, under a dictator’s authority, while tens of thousands of political prisoners remain jailed; the candlelight symbolizes the people's collective boycott of the junta’s fake political process.
These reports were filed by Radio NUG correspondents Khur Shel and Padeh Phoe.
