The Acting President of the National Unity Government, H.E. Duwas Lashi La sends a congratulatory message to Arakan Army (AA), expressing his honor over the victory of the Western Regional Military Command, the National Unity Government (NUG) and the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) have jointly stated that the military junta will hold a bogus election with the aim of continuing to seize state power illegally and the NUG Representative Office in Korea manages to release 14 Myanmar citizens arrested without visas in December.

1. The Acting President of the National Unity Government, H.E. Duwas Lashi La, stated that the revolutionary forces have attacked, and the destruction of two regional military commands in one year is a historic victory that indicates the end of the terrorist military junta is coming soon. The Acting President extended a congratulatory message to the Arakan Army (AA) on December 21st, expressing his honor over the victory of the Western Regional Military Command. This victory is not only for the Arakan people but for all of Myanmar and all the revolutionary forces striving to end military dictatorship and achieve federal democracy. This victory shows the highest level of revolutionary spirit. The comrades, led by the leaders of the Arakan Army, fought bravely and courageously, and they were able to hand the Western Military Regional Commands total victory. It also commemorates and celebrates the leadership of Arakan Army leaders, the sacrifices of forces and comrades, and the resilience and unity of the Arakan people in overcoming numerous challenges to achieve this magnificent victory. The Acting President further expressed full trust that, under the leadership of Arakan Army leaders, the entire Rakhine State will be liberated from the military dictatorship in the near future. The Acting President expressed his determination to fight together to bring an end to the military dictatorship and regime in order to liberate the entire country and people.

2. The National Unity Government (NUG) and the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) have jointly stated that the military junta will hold a bogus election in order to maintain control of the country. The military junta has no right to hold elections as it gained power illegally. The results of the 2020 general election, which were recognized by the public, are valid today. The terrorist military junta is an organization that seeks to illegally grab state power by annulling the 2020 general election results. The military junta has no authority to hold an election, and if it does, it will be an illegitimate bogus election to show that the Myanmar military continues to hold power. The terrorist military junta has been violating the provisions of the 2008 Constitution since February 1, 2021, and this Constitution has also been declared null and void. The joint statement stated that since the 2020 election results, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, which was formed on March 31, 2021, has completely abolished the 2008 Constitution, which was not accepted by the people, and political parties that support the people have been subjected to various forms of oppression and injustice.

3. The Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government, U Aung Kyaw Moe urged on his social media in December that humanitarian aid to provide immediate assistance following a fire in Rohingya refugee camp Bangladesh. The Deputy Minister expressed his sadness after learning that a fire caused many families homeless in a Rohingya refugee camp. The cries of women, children, and the elderly in the fire have motivated us to do more than what we are doing now. So, he requested humanitarian organizations to provide immediate emergency assistance. A fire broke out at the Kutupalong Rohingya refugee camp in Cox's Bazar District, Bangladesh on the afternoon of December 24. The Rohingya refugee camp is located in Camp No. 1, fire broke out in West Blocks C2, C3, C4, and C5, destroying 369 houses and around 100 houses in Block C1.

The Kachin Independence Organization-KIO has taken control of Panwa town in Chipwe Township, Kachin State, and the administration is in place, the KIO/KIA Information Department announced on December 19. The KIA and allied forces conquered Panwa town on October 18, and the KIO administration has been in place since early November. The KIO administration has been in place for more than a month, but the locals are still weak in following the regulations, and still have difficulties, according to the KIA Information Department, citing the statement from the Acting Mayor of Panwa, Slanka Ba Madingbaun Cham. Panwa town was originally managed by the Border Guard Force (BGF) and the militia under the military junta, but the administration was ineffective and difficult. The city administration committee, women's affairs committee, and youth groups have all been established. The police in Panwa is managed by the KIO administration; an immigration, municipal, and health department have been established. The municipal department is striving to beautify the city, while the health department opened public health clinics and is providing medical care. After the KIA and allied forces attacked and conquered the whole Kachin Special Region 1 under the military junta, including Panwa, the KIO/KIA stated on November 28 that the designation would be cancelled.

5. The NUG Representative Office in Korea released a statement in December stating that it managed to release 14 Myanmar citizens who had been arrested without visas. The NUG Representative Office has informed that it is taking legal action to release those arrested by the Korean Immigration Service due to visa issues. In December, it was able to release 14 Myanmar citizens who had been arrested without visas, as well as resolve the case of one person whose temporary residency permits (departure order) were denied. The representative office stated that if they are arrested by the Korean Immigration Service, they will only be freed if they are cleared of all criminal offenses, and they will not be released if they have committed any crimes. The NUG Representative Office also stated that it is necessary to keep records of revolution participation and activities, as well as to prepare relevant news reports in advance.
