๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Spring Development Bank (SDB) Share Purchases and Financial Transactions

The Minister of Planning, Finance, and Investment, U Tin Tun Naing, announced on December 9 via social media that financial transactions for purchasing Spring Development Bank (SDB) shares through SDB-RMs are steadily increasing.

"The direct purchase of shares concluded at midnight last night. However, purchases and transfers through SDB-RMs continue to grow steadily. I extend my respect and gratitude to each and every individual who has invested in our revolution with faith and dedication," he said.

Additionally, the Spring Development Bank revealed on December 9 that it had raised nearly USD 13 million from public share investments. The bank also stated:
"Although the ICO 2 phase has concluded, remaining fund transfers and adjustments for recorded purchases through RMs are ongoing. As such, the final investment amount might vary due to these adjustments."

The sale of Spring Development Bank shares was initially scheduled from November to December 5 but was extended for an additional three days due to high demand, concluding on December 8. Currently, USD 2 million from the proceeds has been allocated for revolutionary efforts under SDB ICO-2.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. Deputy Minister Encourages Participation in the "Revolutionary Legacy" Campaign

Deputy Minister Daw Ei Thinzar Maung of the Ministry of Women, Youth, and Child Affairs urged public participation in the "Revolutionary Legacy" campaign via a video message:
"We are implementing the ‘Revolutionary Legacy’ lottery ticket campaign to support women who are actively participating in the resistance during this revolutionary period. The campaign aims to assist women political prisoners, displaced women, and young women involved in revolutionary activities. Therefore, I call on all revolutionaries to participate in our campaign."

The campaign is reportedly close to reaching its target, with only 850 tickets left to be sold. Prizes include a ruby ring as the grand prize, 20 "Spring Revolution" berets as special prizes, 10 premium coffee paintings, and 20 designer bags.

Proceeds from the campaign will be allocated as follows: 30% for displaced women and children, 30% for women and youth prisoners, 30% for general expenses for female revolutionaries, and 10% for the Ministry’s funds.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. MSFC Congratulates MWAF on Its 25th Anniversary

The Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) sent a congratulatory message to the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation (MWAF) on its 25th anniversary, recognizing its achievements in promoting women’s rights, democracy, and human rights over the past 25 years.

The MSFC praised MWAF for fostering women leaders, combating gender-based violence, and advocating for justice against violations of women’s rights. The message also acknowledged MWAF's significant contributions to the Spring Revolution and its role in building a democratic federal union based on equality, justice, and peace.

The MSFC pledged continued efforts toward women’s leadership, gender equality, and societal cohesion while urging MWAF to continue its endeavors to overcome authoritarian regimes and achieve a brighter future for all women.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 4. Inhumane Conditions in Kalay Prison: Rent Extortion and Forced Labor

Reports from the PPNM revealed that prisoners in Kalay Prison face extortion for cell rents ranging from MMK 30,000 to 200,000. Those unable to pay are placed in poor conditions and forced into hard labor, sometimes leading to death.

One such case involved inmate Aye Chan Aung, who died due to physical exhaustion from forced labor to repay his rent debt. The prison administration reportedly uses coercion to impose forced labor, including on political prisoners.

Additionally, all maintenance costs, such as bulbs and locks, are forcibly collected from inmates. Political prisoners are often overseen by criminals, with abusive practices encouraged by prison authorities.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 5. Deaths Due to Lack of Medical Treatment in Prisons

The AAPP reported that 24 inmates across Myanmar’s prisons died in 2024 due to inadequate medical care. Among them was Pvt. Pyae Sone Oo @ Pa Pa, a CDM participant sentenced to death. He suffered from kidney disease and pleural effusion but passed away on November 30 due to insufficient treatment.

Since the Spring Revolution began, a total of 6,025 people, including democracy activists, have lost their lives due to the actions of the military junta and its affiliates.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 6. Pressure Campaign Against Airbus for Ties to Chinese AVIC

The "Blood Money Cut Campaign" announced on December 9 the launch of a campaign pressuring Airbus, a French-based company, for its business ties with the Chinese state-owned AVIC corporation. AVIC is reportedly complicit in supporting Myanmar’s military junta through various business dealings.

The campaign seeks to highlight the role of international corporations in enabling the junta's oppression, urging greater accountability and divestment from AVIC.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 7. Panel Discussion: "What Stage Have We Reached in Preparing for the Transition Period and the Establishment of a Federal Democratic Union in the Future?"

As part of the 76th International Human Rights Day commemoration, a panel discussion titled "What Stage Have We Reached in Preparing for the Transition Period and the Establishment of a Federal Democratic Union in the Future?" will be held as the third panel discussion under this year’s Human Rights Campaign. The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at exactly 7:00 PM Myanmar Standard Time (MMT).

Participants in this panel discussion include:

  • Ma Ma Nge (JCC-TJ),
  • Naw Ze Ze, Head of Organization and Political Affairs, Women’s League of Burma (Myanmar),
  • U Kyaw Zaw, Secretary (Strategic Communications and Public Relations Unit - SCPRU), National Unity Government (NUG),
  • Banyar Khun Aung, Deputy Secretary-2, Karenni Interim Governance Council.

The event will be moderated by Daw Khin Lay from the Women Advocacy Coalition Myanmar.

This discussion will be broadcast live on platforms such as the Ministry of Human Rights, PVTV, and other revolutionary media channels at 7:00 PM MMT on December 10. The public is invited to tune in and listen.
