๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Military Authorizes Shoot-on-Sight Orders for Suspicious Youths During New Year in Pyin Oo Lwin

In Pyin Oo Lwin, a town hosting military academies, heightened security measures have been enforced during the New Year period due to fears of potential sabotage by revolutionary forces, according to a report by People's Spring.

“To prepare for New Year’s Eve, where hotels are fully booked and people have already started gathering, security forces in plain clothes have been deployed everywhere for the past week,” a local resident shared.

Furthermore, security checkpoints set up during military academy graduation ceremonies remain operational. Youths arriving in groups are being closely monitored, and shoot-on-sight orders have reportedly been issued for anyone deemed suspicious.

The heightened security operations primarily occur between 6:00 PM and 1:00 AM, according to locals who have observed the patrols and checkpoints.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Landmine Attack on Military Convoy from Battalion 33 in Sagaing Kills 12 Soldiers

A military convoy from Battalion 33, based in Sagaing City, was ambushed by allied revolutionary forces using landmines, resulting in the deaths of 12 junta soldiers, according to a statement by Generation Z Power (GZP) Mandalay.

The attack occurred at approximately 11:30 AM on December 23 near the Development University on Yemyat Junction in Sagaing City. Following the landmine detonation, three vehicles carrying junta troops were dispatched to clear the area of mines. These soldiers were subsequently ambushed by allied forces using small firearms, resulting in a skirmish that lasted until around 2:00 PM.

The clash reportedly left 12 junta soldiers dead and several others injured. On the allied side, one revolutionary fighter heroically sacrificed his life.

The operation was a joint effort by Generation Z Power (GZP) Mandalay People's Defense Urban Guerrilla Force, Taw Twin Tup Pee LDF BRA LDF, Phoenix (Sgg), Maung Mae Forces, and Sagaing District PDF.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Junta Outpost and Pyu Leader’s House Torched During Attack in Nyaung Lay Pin

In Nyaung Lay Pin Township, Bago Region, revolutionary forces launched an assault on a junta outpost and the residence of Pyu leader Aung Soe Moe in the village of Jountar, setting both locations ablaze, according to a statement from the Bago District PDF.

The operation took place at around 1:00 AM on December 22, with a large force targeting both the junta outpost and the Pyu leader’s home. During the attack, revolutionary forces seized one MA-3 rifle, one anti-personnel mine, two hand grenades, and confiscated documents detailing extortion from local civilians. The junta outpost was subsequently set on fire.

Similarly, an attack was carried out on the house of the Pyu leader overseeing militia training in the area. Forces confiscated two handmade pistols and two single-shot firearms from the location.

Investigations into junta casualties are ongoing, but no injuries were reported among the revolutionary forces involved in the operation.

The operation was led by KNLA and the Bago District PDF, with support from PDF units from Daik-U, Kawhmu, Yangon Region Strike Force 5, Maubin District, and Waw Township Medical Team. Drone units from In Ta Kaw in Bago District and Kawhmu Township also launched attacks on military Battalion 589 in Shwegyin Township, targeting outposts and checkpoints with explosives starting at 2:00 AM.

The administrator of the Hume Road Ward, located in Yangon Region, Western District, Sanchaung Township, was shot and eliminated, according to an announcement by the Freeland Attack Force.

At approximately 10:10 a.m. on December 24, U San Nwe, the administrator of Hume Road Ward, was targeted and shot in front of his office.

During the attack, a malfunction of the weapon caused the shot to hit only U San Nwe’s abdomen. His current condition is still under investigation.

The operation was conducted due to U San Nwe’s active participation in military conscription processes. He reportedly collected funds for military recruitment while working to exempt his own children from conscription.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. At Least One Civilian Killed, Another Injured, and Eight Detained Amid Junta Violence in Hpa-pun District

In Hpa-pun District, Kawthoolei Administrative Region, Karen National Union (KNU)-controlled territory, military junta forces carried out violent acts in Lay Doh and Saw Htee townships, resulting in one civilian death, one injury, and the detention of eight individuals, according to a KNU report.

On December 16, at around 9:15 p.m., Maung Tin Tin Maung, a local returning home from work in Shan Suu Chaung Ywa, was fatally shot by soldiers from Battalion 57 of the military junta. The bullet struck him in the ear, causing his death.

Additionally, between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. on December 19, Battalion 264 stationed at Pein Zalo village launched five 120-mm artillery shells, which exploded in Hlakhan, Ngafai Inn, and Kyitekwin villages. Four more shells were fired at 2 p.m., striking Taung Khin village and wounding U Than Hlaing, a 42-year-old man.

That same morning, at approximately 4:15 a.m., junta forces entered Kyitekwin village and detained six civilians, identified as U Soe Myar, U Maung Myat Tin, Naw Hsa Pho, Naw Ma Me, Saw Khalet Htoo, and Maung Thein Soe.

The military incursion forced 1,347 residents from 295 households in Kyitekwin, Layeinzu, and Nwar Yae Chaung villages to flee to safety.

On December 20, junta forces also arrested two more villagers, Phiko Ler (71) and Saw Le Pwemoo (55), during their operation in Kyitekwin village before withdrawing from the area.

The Justice Soldier PDF group has announced the recruitment of new trainees for Batch 11.

Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age, in good health, and physically fit to serve in military duties.

Candidates must also be firmly committed to eradicating the dictatorship and building a federal democratic system. Recruits are expected to serve their duties until the revolution is completed.

Moreover, they must strictly adhere to all assigned responsibilities and possess a clean criminal record.
