Military News Updates – December 7, 2024 Morning

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Over 30 Military Personnel Killed in Clashes in Dawei

On December 3, the Dawei People's Liberation Front (TPLF) reported an assault on a junta military base near Maung Mae Shaung Village, Halee Curve, Dawei Township. The operation was conducted in collaboration with various resistance groups, including the Dawei National Liberation Army (DNLA), Ye Phyu People's Defense Force (YPPDF), Black Panther, and Bilon Pyauk Gyar Units. Intense gunfire broke out between both sides during the attack.

A convoy of seven vehicles dispatched as reinforcements from Dawei town was ambushed during their approach. This led to a nearly two-hour skirmish, resulting in the destruction of four vehicles and the deaths of at least 13 junta soldiers.

Additionally, the TPLF Drone Team launched two strikes on Artillery Battalion 304's positions supporting the frontline with heavy artillery fire. They also targeted the residence of officers from Infantry Battalion 406 stationed in Ye Phyu Township.

In total, more than 30 junta troops were reported killed, and numerous others were seriously injured.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ  2. Civilian Casualties in Bhamo Battle Reach 30

On December 6, The 74 Media reported that approximately 30 civilians were killed in Bhamo Township due to artillery shell explosions during ongoing clashes.

KIA-allied forces have entered Bhamo town and successfully overran several junta positions, including Infantry Battalion 236 near the Computer University and additional sites on the Bhamo-Mansi road. Fighting has intensified near locations like the Bhamo-Moe Mauk Road, Four Mile checkpoint, and Namhpa University.

Reports from Bhamo Hospital confirm 19 civilian fatalities, while an independent tally lists 30 deaths, including three children, five teachers, 11 elderly individuals, and 14 adult males.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Aerial Bombing on Thar Kyin Model Village in Ngar Hsone Township

On the night of December 5, between 8:45 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on Thar Kyin Model Village in Ngar Hsone Township, dropping 27 bombs. The attack destroyed numerous buildings, including homes, a school, and a monastery.

Two members of the local People's Defense Force (PDF) were killed, and two others were injured. Livestock also perished in the attack. Fearful of further assaults, residents have fled the village.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Artillery Shelling in Nyaung Lay Pin District Wounds Two, Including an Eight-Year-Old

In Nyaung Lay Pin District, junta forces shelled villages in Mu, Leik To, and Saw Htee Townships with heavy artillery. On December 2 and 3, they fired a total of 16 rounds of 120mm mortars, striking villages such as Guay Kone and others.

Two civilians, including an eight-year-old schoolboy, sustained injuries, and two houses were destroyed. Additional shelling in neighboring areas caused significant property damage, forcing villagers to evacuate.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Landmine Explosion in Kyauk Taw Kills One

On the morning of December 6, a landmine planted by junta forces exploded in Kyauk Taw Township, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old man.

The victim, Ko Aung Soe Paing, was gathering firewood near the junta’s Infantry Battalion 539 when he triggered the mine. He suffered severe injuries, including the loss of his right leg, and succumbed to his wounds while being transported to a medical facility.


These incidents highlight escalating violence and its devastating impact on both combatants and civilians across Myanmar.
