The Union Prime Minister, Dr. Man Win Khine Than, stated, "It is extremely important to ensure clarity in the processes moving forward, along with reassessments of the administrative sector," during the Interim Local Public Administration Steering Committee Meeting (Session 2/2025) of the National Unity Government held on January 9.

The Prime Minister emphasized, "The importance of having structured and transparent mechanisms to ensure clarity in the upcoming processes cannot be overstated. Only by doing so can we thoroughly assess and resolve the root causes of the current challenges, whether they stem from systemic deficiencies or human resource gaps. Coordination and collaboration are necessary across ministries, between townships, and among individual township administrators for effective operations."

The meeting continued with the members of the Interim Local Public Administration Steering Committee reviewing the decisions made during Session 1/2025, discussing the current status of ongoing activities, and deliberating on the remaining tasks to be executed.

The meeting was led by the Union Prime Minister, Dr. Man Win Khine Than, and attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, and other responsible personnel from various departments.

At 5:00 PM on January 9, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Ta’ang (Palaung) National Party (TNP) held discussions via video conference regarding potential areas for collaboration.

During the meeting, CRPH Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt and TNP General Secretary Mai Naing Gaung Jar delivered introductory remarks.

Both parties discussed and exchanged views on possible collaborative efforts in parliamentary matters, political initiatives, and on-the-ground necessities.

The meeting was attended by CRPH Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt and members, along with Central Executive Committee members from the Ta’ang (Palaung) National Party.

Union Minister Dr. Sa Sa confirmed on January 9 that he had met with the former Prime Minister of Australia.

"It was an honor to listen to and meet Scott Morrison, the 30th Prime Minister of Australia, during his address. Prime Minister Morrison, while speaking on 'The Future of Governance - Nationalism in the Era of International Security,' frequently referred to Australia as a gateway to Asia and emphasized its recognition as a key player in promoting a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region as part of the Quad. This makes Australia a crucial partner for the future of Myanmar's Federal Democracy," said the Minister.

Welcoming the year 2025, Dr. Sa Sa expressed hope for stronger collaboration between Australia and Myanmar in safeguarding and upholding shared democratic values and principles.

Union Minister Dr. Sa Sa confirmed on January 9 that he had met with U.S. Representative French Hill to discuss the NDAA Burma Act and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2669.

"It was a privilege to meet U.S. Representative French Hill. I deeply appreciate the opportunity to discuss Myanmar's pressing crises, regional concerns, and broader movements affecting the area. We highlighted the urgent need for the full implementation of the NDAA Burma Act and UNSC Resolution 2669," said Dr. Sa Sa.

He further expressed gratitude for the continued support for Myanmar's Federal Democracy and for the strengthening of Myanmar-American solidarity.

The Minister underscored the hope for deeper and more constructive engagement between Myanmar's legitimate representatives and the United States within the strategic Myanmar-U.S. partnership.

The Sagaing Federal Union Parliament and the Monywa Public Strike Leadership Committee held a meeting via Zoom on January 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM, according to reports.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Sagaing Federal Union Parliament delivered an opening speech, followed by a presentation on the status of the review of the Interim Constitutional Framework (First Draft) and upcoming action plans by representatives of the Sagaing Federal Union Parliament.

Members of the Monywa Public Strike Leadership Committee also discussed potential areas for collaboration regarding the Union Parliament's future plans. The meeting successfully concluded at 2:50 PM.

Attendees included the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, representatives of the Sagaing Federal Union Parliament, and members of the Monywa Public Strike Leadership Committee.
