๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. KIA Coalition Forces Capture Bhamo Airport

According to military reports, the Bhamo Airport has been captured as of January 9 after the Military Council forces stationed there withdrew.

The Military Council's Telegram propaganda channel also acknowledged the development, stating, “Bhamo Airport is now in enemy hands.” It further reported that several bunkers at the Bhamo-based Operation Command Headquarters (No. 21) were destroyed, and the commander of the headquarters fled the area.

In addition, social media footage shows a commander from the coalition forces confirming the capture of Infantry Battalion (47), stationed in Bhamo.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. After a Month-long Offensive, KIA-led Forces Fully Capture All Military Council Battalions in Mansi, Kachin State

The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Brigade 11, alongside the All Burma Students' Democratic Front (ABSDF) Battalion 2, Tactical Group 10, and Kachin People's Defense Force (KPDF), successfully captured all of the Military Council’s battalions stationed in Mansi, Kachin State. These included Infantry Battalions 319, 601, and Artillery Battalion 352. The capture was achieved after a month-long offensive from December 4, 2024, to January 8, 2025, according to an ABSDF announcement.

Earlier in May 2024, an initial offensive was launched in Mansi, but it was suspended due to various reasons. However, in this latest campaign, the remaining bases of the Military Council in Mansi were successfully attacked and seized. During the battles, significant amounts of weapons and ammunition were captured from the enemy forces.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Karenni Joint Forces Seize PNO and Military Council Base in Hsi Hseng Township

On the morning of January 9, the Karenni Joint Forces launched an attack and successfully captured a base jointly operated by the PNO (Pa-O National Organization) militia and the Military Council in Shwe Taik Koo Village, located in Hsi Hseng Township, southern Shan State, according to KPV News.

“We’ve taken the base. We’ve captured over 30 firearms. The detailed ground situation is still being assessed,” a representative from the Karenni Joint Forces confirmed.

It was also reported that during the capture of the base, child soldiers who were underage and forcibly conscripted by the PNO were taken into custody as victims of forced military recruitment.

This is the first significant base seizure by the Karenni Joint Forces in 2025, located near Hsi Hseng Township and strategically important for military operations.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Kuthesezoe Military Base in Muthel Captured by Division 3 Forces and Allied Revolutionary Troops

The Kuthesezoe military base, located in Muthel, Leido Township, Nyaunglebin District, which had been occupied by the Military Council’s forces for over 35 years, was fully captured by Division 3 forces and allied revolutionary troops. The assault began on December 31, 2024, and concluded on January 5, 2025, according to an announcement by the KNU Central Command.

During the capture, eight Military Council soldiers were killed, and some managed to escape. Additionally, the revolutionary forces seized numerous weapons and ammunition, including one 81mm mortar.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Ambush on Two Vehicles Carrying Military Council Soldiers, Police, and Pyu Saw Htee Militia Leaves Seven Dead, Including Pyu Leader

In Min Kun Township, Sagaing Region, two vehicles carrying Military Council troops, police, and Pyu Saw Htee militia were ambushed while traveling from Mingun toward Sagaing. The attack resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including the Pyu leader, according to a statement from the People’s Servant Force (PSF).

The ambush took place on January 7 at around 5:30 PM on the Sagaing-Mingun road. It was carried out by PSF, the Unicorn Guerrilla Force, Mingun PDF, and Min Kun Township PDF.

During the attack, 33-year-old Pyu leader Shwe Kyar (a.k.a. Kyaw Myo Htun) and his wife were killed, along with five others. Two individuals escaped. The revolutionary forces also seized six G-3 rifles, seven ammunition magazines, 327 rounds of 7.62mm bullets, three grenades, four communication devices, and two police uniforms.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. Military Convoy from Tactical Command 21 Ambushed by Padesa Mines in Pakokku

In Pakokku District, Magway Region, a military convoy from Tactical Command 21 was ambushed with Padesa mines along the Saw-Saikphyu road, according to a statement by the CAF-Spupdf Battalion 4, Sub-Battalion 1.

The ambush occurred at around 6:40 AM on January 8. CAF-Spupdf Battalion 4's Sub-Battalions 1 and 2 attacked the convoy using Padesa mines, followed by small-arms fire.

The attack disabled one military vehicle, leading to a 20-minute exchange of fire. Reports indicate that four Military Council soldiers, including one officer, were killed, while five others were injured. Additional reinforcements arrived from the Military Council, which retaliated by shelling nearby villages and recovering the damaged vehicle.

Drone strikes were later launched by the Military Council. During these strikes, a deputy commander from CAF-Spupdf Battalion 4, Sub-Battalion 1, was injured by a mine explosion, though the injuries were reportedly not critical.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 7. Sixteen Soldiers, Including a Captain, Defect to KNU Division 5 After Surrendering Hlagunpyo Military Base

On January 7 at 11 PM, 16 soldiers, including a captain, stationed at the Hlagunpyo (Khoethweehta) Military Council base in Dwe Lo Township, Mu Traw District, surrendered by raising a white flag and defected to the KNLA and allied revolutionary forces, according to military reports.

Following the defection, the Hlagunpyo base was cleared, set on fire, and destroyed. Six Military Council soldiers who refused to surrender fled. Revolutionary forces seized 20 weapons, including one 81mm mortar.
