The National Unity Government (NUG) is no longer a remote online government but has become a ground-level government, Defense Minister U Yee Mon stated in an interview with veteran journalist U Khin Maung Soe during January.

"I’ve noticed that some describe NUG as an ‘exile government.’ However, the truth is, NUG is not a remote government or an online government. We can confidently say that NUG is now a ground-level government. The President and the Prime Minister, who are the highest-ranking officials in NUG, are operating from within the country. Similarly, ministries and ministers that are required to be present on the ground are indeed operating within the country," the minister explained.

He further confirmed that he himself is currently present within the revolutionary territories and that the NUG government is in the process of establishing offices in liberated areas to commence operations.
